The media working their hardest to manifest a story out of mid-air.

Whose on Diggs short list?

The Bengals? The Chiefs? The Eagles? 49ers?

Or really he has to get to Dallas so he can play with Dak Prescott?

He’s been paid and he gets more exposure on National TV here then he did in Minnesota.

Hope he got real with Beane and McDermott in his exit interview, but no way you’re leaving Buffalo.

Oh I think there is a small fire. I think he is pissed with the organisation for losing, pissed with Dorsey's playcalling and pissed with Josh for not getting him the ball when he is open. The question is whether the situation is salvageable. I think at the moment it definitely is. The relationship between Josh and Stef is the key one that needs fixing. It definitely fractured some down the stretch this year. They need to get together while they are off. Throw together and work out what got mixed up in their chemistry late last year. Josh is a better Quarterback when he is throwing the ball to Stef a lot. Stef is a better receiver with Josh Allen. They need each other. And for that reason I expect it gets fixed.

I think the Bills need to diversify.

Diggs isn’t enough.

And where was Stefon in Kansas City 2021?

Only idiotic teams trade their best players

Of course this is not universally true. Every situation is different. Jets traded Adams, Seahawks traded Wilson. Minn traded Diggs and it worked out just fine for them.

No way they should trade Diggs.

If Diggs wants out,  it is a further indictment of McDermott and Beane's inability to win in the playoffs.

The conclusion of Florio's piece is the opposite of "more trade talk".  Florio is saying that it does not make sense for the Bills to trade Diggs:

Quote

Although nothing can be ruled out, there’s one major complication that didn’t apply when the Vikings traded Diggs in 2020. Given the contract that Diggs received last year, a trade before June 1 would trigger a cap charge for the Bills of $34.775 million.

The other problem is that the Bills don’t really have any other high-end receivers. They could try to sign one or trade for one, or they could try to get one on the draft.

But they have one. It makes far more sense to make him happy than to move on after only 50 regular-season games.

The core of this team has failed 3 years in a row.

As far as I'm concerned, the only immovable piece is Josh Allen.

If someone wants to give us RD1 pick for Diggs.  Fine by me.  Just, for the love of God, get Josh Allen a legit OL.  If he has time, he will torch any defense, provided we reset the weaponry with a couple high picks and a vet WR.

I can't say I necessarily hate the idea of spending his money on OL in FA, bringing in OBJ and then double dipping early on say... Jordan Addison and Smith-Njigba or Jalin Hyatt.

he comes with big cap hit if they move him and that lessens ablity to get Oline help for Allen

Yea, I see that now.  Makes no sense unless someone blows us away with a trade package.. which for a guy with his cap hit is likely not happening.

Doesnt SD14 see the film with JA17 running for his life?  It gets fixed when Diggs sees signing and drafting of better O line.

This stuff gets blown so far out of proportion...but alas it's good for content.

I'm fine with trading him so long as the thought process is to blow the whole thing up. If it's a one-off trade for whatever financial/personality reason, then no thanks.

I think Diggs is just frustrated like we all are.

Beane and McDermott are going to be under the microscope going forward. You know how teams like the Chargers, Packers, Cowboys, and others have been making the playoffs, not winning, and the national talk is about the head coach not being good enough?

That's going to be the talk around McDermott if this team keeps getting bounced in the playoffs.

Chiefs

Trade Hill and still win SB - WIN

Titans

Trade AJ Brown and don't make Playoffs - LOSS

Packers

Trade Adams and don't make Playoffs - LOSS

Texans

Trade Hopkins and fall apart - LOSS

Cowboys

Give away Cooper and now are looking for more weapons - LOSS

Vikings

Trade away Diggs and immediately draft Jefferson - WIN

2 Wins verses 4 Losses, doesn't seem likely this helps the Bills.

But there's also times where he has clean pocket and ignores wide open receivers underneath to force a ball into triple coverage deep. There's more than one issue at pretty much every level of this offense. Josh is such a freak that he can overcome his and others mistakes at times to put up good numbers.

Well I guess the argument can be made the Chiefs traded Hill...

Hill had more value than Diggs now, Chiefs were primed to win even without him (Mahomes + Kelce), and their front office was capable of maximizing the draft pick return. At this point, losing Diggs would cripple the Bills offense and we know Beane throws darts during the draft.

I disagree in an extent that Allen can make any receiver look good just as long as he gets time to work with them look what he did for Gabe Davis last year.

Beane knew what he was trading for when he got Diggs out of Minnesota when Diggs started to take backseat to Adam Theilen and did not like it at all.

This is all moot though do to cap issues but if it wasn’t I could see Buffalo dealing him to a receiver needy team like Cleveland and taking then Buffalo taking Quentin Johnston.

this is one of those pure speculation blurbs Florio and his gang post, especially in the offseason. There’s no substance behind it, beyond “well, Diggs did it once before in Minnesota.”

It’s impossible for cap reasons. Maybe if he takes pay cut.

Thank you!  Per Spotrac, $45M dead cap hit if they were to get rid of him.  His base salary is $7.9 M this year.  Everything else Bills would have to eat in a trade.  Diggs isn't going anywhere.  Florio is an idiot.

I don’t think he is going anywhere, but just for semantics, Diggs for CeeDee Lamb…who says no? I think it’s close

I will not disagree Diggs has suction cups for hands but Lamb is a homerun threat every time he touches the ball

I have no idea if there's any smoke or fire!

I do know that there is an ARMY of media guys who make a living discussing the NFL all day, every day.

They need things to talk about; that's a fact.

And you think they all deserve their own thread about whatever nonsense speculation they spit out to attract attention to themselves?

C'mon man, be better...
