NFL Replay needs to be like XFL

They may not want to get too close to these "bogus leagues" as you call them but they have no issue taking things from them. The "eye in the sky" from the original XFL. I hope they take this review idea and are transparent.

Ok there's that...

anyway, would you feel better if you could see them getting the call wrong in real time, all together?  You watching them all will not make them any more or less accurate in their review.

It has nothing to do with that. Watching them will take away the concerns fans have with the league playing favorites

Transparency is always better but that’s exactly what I thought went on. Someone reviewing and over analyzing the play. Make a decision and let’s go.

I think the majority of people would call that an INT. That’s got to be the goal of officiating. Look at it quickly and make a decision.

Part of me thinks the NFL likes the controversy.

I agree with this 100%.  If a guy makes a spectacular play and one square micron of the ball hits one blade of grass during a catch.  Give the guy the catch.  Honestly, the NFL doesn’t get it.

The defender has it initially, but if we use the "survived the ground" rule (assuming that's a thing in the XFL), then he lost possession upon hitting the ground. Since the ball didn't touch the ground and the receiver snatched it away, they gave it to the offense.

The ball is tucked away with a knee down.  The play is dead at that point.  One knee equals two feet and tucking the ball away is considered a football move.  That is possession and down by contact.  What happens after that is irrelevant.  The receiver cannot take the ball away and the ground cannot cause a fumble after contact.

Question for people that want all plays reviewable for penalties.

What happens if the ref doesn’t call holding on Bradberry in the Super Bowl but Andy Reid throws the challenge flag? Are we upset when they reverse the call?

They wouldn’t have. It would have to be beyond obvious. See the pass interference challenge experiment for a real world example of how it would go.

Wouldn’t have what? It was a clear hold.

They absolutely would not have made that a penalty if coaches are given the option to challenge anything. See the PI challenge experiment. You would need a missed open field tackle for them to have called a penalty that wasn’t called on the field.

The guy pulled his jersey. It’s automatic.
