Diggs sees it.

Again, except for direct snap to Knox, I don’t recall any O surprises.

-Eagles used “double RB QB Butt shove” and may become illegal.

-KC used ring-around-the-Rosie.

I don’t recall anything remotely surprising from O in 2022.

Seriously tho. What was the purpose of the ring around the Rosie?

I can see if Diggs has a problem with Beane (roster construction) or McDermott( in game decisions) or even Dorsey( offensive scheme).

But if he has a problem with one the top 3 QBs in football who got him the ball 108 times and played half a year with an elbow injury to his throwing arm I don’t know what to tell you.
If he truly only wants to play for Dallas they just don’t have the money to make it work cause next year Micah, his brother, Dak, and CD all want to get paid. With Micah probably going to be the highest paid defensive player in history.

here's the problem

josh looks to diggs first almost all the time, but he's almost always double covered.

josh starts to go through his progression reads and never has time to get back to diggs, who by now has gotten open.

FIX THE O LINE !!

Diggs is one of the most targeted players in the league.

Justin Jefferson gets 1.5 balls thrown to him per game. Not catches, but attempts. Jefferson was targeted more than anybody in the league this year, and had the 11th most targets in league history. Ever.

The Bills don’t have a problem targeting Stefon Diggs. No matter how much Diggs says it’s a problem. It’s not. 2 pass attempts (not catches) per game would make be historical for Diggs.

This conversation drives me nuts. The entire offense runs through Diggs. If anything this team needs to spread the ball out more.

There are no more realistic attempts for Diggs. He already gets them all.

Yes... incompetent coach with the highest winning percentage in franchise history that went to the playoffs in his first year after 17 years of nothing.

More like incompetent poster.

Diggs could have likely worded that better, but that is the danger of ever talking to the media. We can take one flip comment and make it grow hair and teeth.

The Vikings got a very good OC as a HC and I am sure that helped their offensive production. That is not to say that ALL OCs make great HCs, the pedestrian ones usually pan out the way you would expect. And most OCs are not offensive gurus or the next Andy Reid, even guys like Kliff Kingsbury who was fired from AZ after being given a ridiculous contract extension.

Poor Kliff, he left AZ and their pouting QB behind with a crap ton of money for an extended vacation in Thailand with his GF so.... his loss right?

This will be Diggs' last year here if we don't win the super bowl. There's no way we are sitting here again next off-season and he's happy about where he is if we don't win it. They might be able to get him back on the same page for this year but not after that if we keep losing in the playoffs

Nick Sirriani got to the Super Bowl his 2nd year on the job.

Kyle Shanahan and Zac Taylor both got there in their 3rd years.

It's a myth that it takes several years for a new coaching staff to get the team to championship caliber. A new coach with no franchise QB, maybe (although that's where Taylor and Shanahan were when they took over). A new coach starting off with Josh Allen and established players on both sides of the ball would have very few if any growing pains.

Don't be so afraid of change. If a regime after 7 years of trying doesn't even sniff a Super Bowl appearance even after several years of elite QB play, it is reasonable to give someone else a chance.

Agreed.  It has only been 6 years for McD, but, agreed.  Why would we waste an entire window of opportunity with JA17 on someone who has shown he is not capable of winning the Championship.  He is holding this team back from being elite and his sidekick Frazier too!

To confuse the defense. Didn't we all watch it unfold and think, "WTF is that?" Well, the defense probably did too, which gave the offense an extra split-second advantage.

Either Diggs or McBeane will be gone if we dont win the Super Bowl next year. Hopefully its a moot point and we will celebrate victory together, but no ring next year won’t be tolerated. Diggs will be entering the twilight of his career and McBeane will have wasted another year of Allen, so maybe they are all gone.

Diggs was 4th in the league with 108 receptions.

5th in the league in yds

tied for 3rd in the league in tds

Not the afc, the entire league.

All with playing 16, not 17 games.
And a qb with an injured elbow.
I don’t think it was a dig at anyone. Sounds like some major reaching going on here.
If it was a dig, he’s a dumbass.

Great points

I think with him it all boils down to winning and he wanted that ball and to put the team on his back. He said he was in single coverage on that drive and wanted the ball to get us back in it.

But ya, in terms of him taking a shot at our coaching,  it's definitely a reach. In the op , I said maybe, only because he seemed to go out of his way to praise the Minny offensive minded coaching situation.

But even if it was a minor shot, I like it. If anything it'll only motivate McD and Dorsey to scheme better for their ALL pro WR. It wasn't anything against them.

Diggs has a problem with losing. He's not asking for a trade. Just offseason stuff to keep the NFL in the news

Exactly.  He signed that extension for a reason and loves Allen. Sometimes tempers flare, especially at this level. If anything,  it'll only motivate Josh and Dorsey to get him more looks. Not saying he was under targeted but I would be screaming at the TV alot saying FEED 14. FEED 14. JJeff had 184 targets

Diggs had 154

1 less game obviously but still like that number to be closer to 170. I feel Diggs is that good

That's really the only thing o could think of too. It had no bearing on the play. They could have done the YMCA and ran a play while the eagles were like "whaaaaaa"

Diggs is the kind of veteran presence that we need desperately to get us over the top. The fact is Dorsey failed at maximizing our skill players in the second half of the season. Diggs was used as a decoy instead of the great weapon he is. Why wasn’t Diggs targeted more? The offense was one dimensional and predictable. Between exposing Josh as our primary runner and not involving Shakir or Knox enough, Digg’s frustration at not being the focal point of our attack, was understandable. My fear is that Dorsey can drive a wedge in the most important relationship on the Bills if he can’t evolve as as an OC this year we’re finished.

I have been a part of a lot of really successful teams. Ultimately competing at that level is a profession. There’s certainly a casualness to athletics, but it’s still a profession.

I know about 15-20 world champions, world record holders, and Olympic gold medalists. If any of them acted like Diggs has been I would likely know zero of them. It’s just not how teammates behave over long periods of time and find success at the worlds largest stages.

He has got to find a way to be a better teammate.

McDermott needs to change his coaching, and Beane needs to construct the roster better if we want to win a Super Bowl; neither has been good enough. If Diggs acts like everything is ok with how things are going, he might think a championship is impossible, which he isn't ok with, so he acts out. But if he doesn't act like that and keeps everything status quo, he might never be a world champion in his mind. I wouldn't want to sit through McClappys 4th playoff loss speech (3rd with Diggs) after losing for the same reason; Overmatched/Outcoached. Most people concede that McDermott is a Monday-Saturday coach who has gotten us to where we are, but we might not advance any further. Diggs' time to win a Super Bowl is short and gets shorter every year, and he doesn't want to waste a season.

I have no doubt that Diggs believes he’s doing the right thing. Of course he does. It’s actually part of the problem. The issue is his behavior sucks and is detrimental to the players around him. His role is WR. Not FO. Not GM. Not owner. Not coach. He doesn’t have control over any of that. Creating a toxic work environment doesn’t do any good.

Go publicly scream about your direct manager or SVP and see how that goes over. At every National Sales Meeting I’ve ever been to somebody inevitably acts like Diggs over a cocktail or two, the wrong person hears, and year in year out quality employees get fired for being unprofessional.

Ya but that employee that gets fired is probably working until they are 70, Diggs has 3 maybe 4 years left.

In my experience if enough people complain, needed changes are made, if no one complains, people quit as issues worsen because nothing gets changed.

I don’t disagree with any of this.

But I also don’t think it’s an honest inventory of the situation. I don’t give a Schitts Creek it Diggs goes to Terry and says everything needs to change. I don’t care if he sits down with Dorsey and tells him he needs to be better.

But that’s not what we’re discussing. We’re talking about Diggs publicly undressing either Allen, Dorsey, McD, or Beane. Maybe some combination of some or all. We’re talking about him bailing on his teammates post game and locker clean out then gaslighting everybody with tweets about how he is supposed to be ok with losing. As if that’s the only other option. We’re talking about swipes about offensive vs defensive coaches.

I can’t recall a player in another sport behaving like that and it leading to winning a championship. Maybe Jordan or Kobe? in order to get away with it you need to be on the GOAT conversation. Diggs is another 5-7 years of his current production away from being a HoF player let alone a GOAT receiver. Leaders of World Championship teams don’t behave this way.

I want Diggs here. But I’m over his toxicity. He’ll have to shape up or he’ll be near the epicenter of a Bills implosion.
