Maybe the Bills weren’t off base when they released him after all. But you can find a good, capable RB in the later rounds... 😎 14 hours ago, Royale with Cheese said: A little more than 5 ypc…that’s Hall of Fame level. Similar to Motor's career average 😎 Quote

Plus this year they kept Moss & let Blackshear go just maybe if they would actually use some of these backs in a game setting they may find a good one instead of holding on to one being Moss because he was a draft pick . This has been a recurring theme with the Bills Dabol took 2 Players with him being Hodgins & Berida and actually used them both & took his team to the play offs and the Bills let them both warm the bench & again let Moss pretty much a none factor but 1 play per game be active every week . Then they did the same with Mckenzie resigned him because he can run fast &had just 1 really good game sometimes i just wish they would give others a real chance in games to see what they can produce while in a real game setting . It's easier for the Giants to grab players like Berida as they didn't have a very talented roster, certainly back in Sept, no one expected them to make the playoffs. The Bills are a pretty deep team so harder to find a spot for guys like this. It's like the early year the Bills made the playoffs and Duke Williams had like 9 catches. He probably hasn't had that many since career wise Not very easy to give fringe players chances as during pre season no other teams are playing "real game settings" either. So the only way would be to cut guys in September to take a chance on someone like Williams. Very likely more often they'd be wrong by doing that than right. Quote

Maybe but to get a veteran that costs more against the cap & that you know his ceiling to leave inactive on game day and then put a rookie which may have a higher ceiling to leave on the practice squad only to be taken by another team then produce doesn't seem to be possibly the best direction to go . Then if that rookie produces in the pre season as much as the veteran & you are building of the future doesn't seem as a good way to do things . For instance the Bills signed Mckenzie to a 2 year extension because of 1 really good game & the Giants pilfered Hodgins a player on the PS that they drafted & invested 3 years in & didn't truly give him a realistic shot & now we have seen what he did for the Giants & if given the chance could have developed chemistry with Josh and been here on a extension for longer & less money makes more sense than what was done . The coaches know what they can do. They see them every day in practice. It's only the fans who don't know what they can do. Quote

Moss showed pretty much what he was worth 1 good run per game but hey lets keep him around instead of a guy that produced in pre season like Blackshear or like the Bills did in keeping Berieda inactive or pay Mckenzie good money while keeping Hodgins in active only to go to another team to produce more than the one you pay ??? Just saying all that was invested in Hodgins & that was known about Mckenzie both in there own way were loses . What if Hodgins was kept instead of Mckenzie & produced like he did in NY with that added production would they have made further or been better off for the future both in cap space & production ? How much of that 3 years was he actually healthy for? Likely if he was able to stay on the field they would have seen what he's capable of. Whether that would have meant they kept him or not who knows. And yes we saw what he did, but still in a very small window of time. Lets see what next year brings. A player that many think should be in the HOF. Steve Tasker "got away" from was it the Oilers?? It happens. Quote

It happens. His first year was actually a injury but the last thing was covid that kept him from playing this last year he was completely healthy & to the Bills favor i believe they were going to bring him back on the PS but Dabol knew how talented he was & took him because of that . They must have saw something in him to keep him all that time that is the thing that bugs me we all knew what Mckenzie was a part time player but Hodgins was never really given a full time role if you would & seeing after the fact what he has done it would have been nice to add that for another go to for Josh plus he is much taller & probably a better target on those contested catches .
