H2o Posted February 14, 2023 Posted February 14, 2023 Carr will have some suitors. NO, Carolina, Tampa, the Jets possibly. I doubt he's able to secure anything more than a 2 or 3 year deal though. Quote
Big Turk Posted February 14, 2023 Posted February 14, 2023 Everyone knew this was coming as soon as Carr told them he would not accept a trade to anywhere. 1 1 Quote
78thealltimegreat Posted February 14, 2023 Posted February 14, 2023 He probably wants a shot at the playoffs at his age…no guarantee of that in the death march known as the AFC….NFC South here he comes Quote

It wasnt too long ago that I thought he would carve a niche for himself in the middle tier of QBs (#10-#15) who does enough to win games while needing a good overall team to get to the playoffs. But here we are ... A previously highly paid QB unceremoniously dumped He's exactly that though- always has been. 2 Quote

K D Posted February 14, 2023 Posted February 14, 2023 He's a top 10-15 QB. Those guys usually don't just get released. I think he's unfairly criticized. He's as good as Matt Stafford who instantly made the Rams good. I think on a good team he can do enough to get a team over the hump. I think 49ers would be foolish not to go for Brady, Rodgers, Carr. All 3 of those guys grew up fans of the team and would probably play for them for free for a chance to win their team a super bowl 4 Quote

Stafford has always been a great QB in a dysfunctional organization. There's an entire tier of difference between Stafford and Carr. Stafford was always a QB capable of winning a championship with a little help. Carr isn't that guy. If you want to win a championship with him, you better come with the '00 Ravens or '02 Bucs. He routinely falls apart when the lights get brightest and you put the game on his shoulders. He has lower highs and lower lows than Stafford. Not a bad player at all, but if you're hoping to win it all with him everything else has to be perfect. The only team I can think of that fits that mold is San Francisco, and depending on how the offseason goes, maybe the Jets. Edited February 14, 2023 by BullBuchanan Quote

Carr could be a very good QB for another 7-8 years. I think he's better than people give him credit for. We'll see. If he goes to a contender they can make some noise. If he goes to Carolina or New Orleans then we will probably never hear from him again 1 Quote
