I’ve been screaming that a short yardage back is a major need for the Bills.  That takes Mike’s off Josh.

me personally-I want a bell cow RB that can block, catch, pick up 4th and 2, score from 90 yards, and line up wide

There isn't much point in having a short yardage back anymore. Handing the ball off is far less effective than just pushing the QB forwards.

Do you remember what episode of the Brandt podcast he said that in?

Not sure as I listened to all of them. He said he doesn't workout because he doesn't want to get tight and stiff for throwing which is fine but you can do light weight or bands or yoga/pilates... something! Brady does the "TB12 Method" which involves bands and dynamic movements and stretching and his body guru guy helping to loosen and stretch the muscles. Seems to be working well for him.

Hurts is a different kind of beast. He's a gym rat and his numbers are super impressive for his size. I'm not saying Josh needs to do that but it's no wonder why Hurts can plow through the line like that on 4th and 1 when he has a lower center of gravity and some of the strongest legs in the league

I just don't want Allen to fall into the Ben Roethlisberger camp of body regimen.

Where it was said about Ben that his idea of working out was a "light yoga session and then hitting the sauna".

I just see the body fat percentage on Allen, and I would think he would want to maximize his scrambling ability, by tightening up some.

Also, some workout to the shoulders and arms because of his 2nd UCL injury would seem logical.

Also of Kyle Brandt time talking about joking around, but I do wonder if the offseason dedication is there.

Also, speaking of conditioning, I was kind of alarmed to see Gabe Davis with Bert K and he has a full-on belly.

I'm pretty sure that statistically allen is one of the best in the league at this lol

Seriously? He is the worst QB sneak QB ive ever seen.  He fumbles 1/3rd of the time

Yes. I don't have the stats on hand at work but I know I've heard it said multiple times that he converts these situations at an elite rate. We are bills fans so we remember all the failures. We see hurts convert a few times in the super bowl and assume he is great and allen is terrible because that's how psychology works. But that's not a valid line of reasoning unless you watch every qb play every game and see all their sneaks

Allen literally has multiple 20+ yard runs on the qb sneak setup, because he spots leverage issues in the defense and elects to go around tackle

Eagles proficiency is entirely in their o line technique. I don’t see any other team drive block so low on sneaks. It’s crazy.

And 2 to 3 players pushing hurts from behind.

Look at the Eagles o line.  Now look at the Bills o line. That's the answer

Huh? It's the oline dummy.

There was one sneak attempt where a Chiefs lineman dove over the line and made contact with Hurts. But he was off the ground now and the Eagles O-line just moved him back like a leaf on an ocean wave. Yeah, it's the line!

I want Josh to have a long career as Bills QB. I would like us to stop using Josh as a battering ram

This thread is funny. Half the people think it's the dumbest thread ever and that it's all the Eagles line. The other half think it's mostly Hurts. Some have said Josh is excellent at this already (he once was) and some have said he sucks now, too many fumbles (not exactly the case). We just mostly stopped running it after the Titans game.

Nobody thinks it's worth dedicating some resources to in order to lock up a 3rd or 4th an short? In any event, I would bet money assisting the runner will be banned very soon, at the least, they will say something like you can only assist the runner when they cross the line of scrimmage. These 4th and 1 plays are some of the most exciting in the game and teams do get a decent amount of stops on them. The assisted sneak is just lame and boring. Doesn't really feel in the spirit of the game.

I'd say he works out.....

Yeah, I think he may know his way around a gym a little. Why do people post crap like that when it is such obvious nonsense?
