Mikie2times Posted February 13, 2023 Posted February 13, 2023 Is it worth a roster spot? Hell yes it is. Especially if you think Josh just can't execute it, which until the Titans game he did nearly to perfection. Since that point we barely have run it. Watching the Eagles do this all year and in this game. Such a huge advantage to be guaranteed 3rd/4th and 1. 1 Quote
strive_for_five_guy Posted February 13, 2023 Posted February 13, 2023 Maybe we can talk Brady out of retirement to be our QB specialist? 😂😂😂 1 1 Quote
17islongenough Posted February 13, 2023 Posted February 13, 2023 Look at the Eagles o line. Now look at the Bills o line. That's the answer 6 5 1 2 Quote

Airseven Posted February 13, 2023 Posted February 13, 2023 The key is the OL not the QB. Allen becomes a rattled mess because he’s anxious behind a line he doesn’t trust. 1 1 Quote

That's the answer I don't think it's that straight forward. With the right execution, practice, and technique. You just can't stop it. Not with assisting the runner. I expect every team in the NFL to go this path. That yard is worth a couple of wins a year. Quote
Franco_92 Posted February 13, 2023 Posted February 13, 2023 I'm pretty sure that statistically allen is one of the best in the league at this lol 2 Quote

Post Titans, we haven't run it much at all. We started again this year a little more with the runner assist, but post Minnesota game I don't believe we ran it one time. Given our clear history of running it, then basically stopping all together after "events" two years in a row, my thought was Allen had the yips. Perhaps that isn't the case. Could be one of many things. Having said this, we certainly never coached the submarine style line blocking the Eagles do. Nor the level of runner assist the Eagles use. We basically had one WR pushing. You can tell, the Eagles practice that all the time. I feel if practiced all the time it is basically unstoppable. I wouldn't be surprised if the NFL puts in a rule to take that play out. It's a cheat code as it stands right now. https://www.pff.com/news/nfl-just-fall-forward-nfl-teams-qb-sneak-underutilized 1 Quote
K D Posted February 13, 2023 Posted February 13, 2023 Hurts squats 600 pounds aka 2 defensive linemen. Josh squats zero pounds because he says he doesn't do squats and doesn't lift much if ever. 2 Quote

Mobile or physically strong guys who just will never make it throwing. Quote

Andy1 Posted February 13, 2023 Posted February 13, 2023 Eagles proficiency is entirely in their o line technique. I don’t see any other team drive block so low on sneaks. It’s crazy. 1 1 Quote
DabillsDaBillsDaBills Posted February 13, 2023 Posted February 13, 2023 This might be the dumbest thread I've seen so far this year. How is a sneak specialist worth a roster spot? Hurts is the Eagles starting QB and not eating up an extra roster spot to be a 3rd/4th and short specialist. You're not even making an argument here. FWIW the Bills offense were the best in the league at 3rd down conversions this year. 1 1 2 Quote

Same as Josh, but again, we keep choosing to not run it after horrible things happen. Two straight years now. 10 minutes ago, DabillsDaBillsDaBills said: This might be the dumbest thread I've seen so far this year. How is a sneak specialist worth a roster spot? I think you’re extremely short sited if you think it’s not worth a roster spot for a guaranteed first down on anything within a yard. Show me the stats of us being the best in the league on 3rd or 4th and 1. Quote
StHustle Posted February 13, 2023 Posted February 13, 2023 I would definitely take a specialists who can convert a 3rd/4th and 1 at a 90% clip than a Kumerow type specialist. But tell me where this guy exists. 1 Quote

I’m thinking Josh could run that sneak play rather effectively with the way the Eagles do it.. Hurts has very little to do with it. On the one play he was clearly short and momentum was stopped.. but was further pushed by his team. Momentum and the zero clock have suddenly become calls that the new NFL reffing rules have somehow decided to not call correctly Quote
Mr. WEO Posted February 13, 2023 Posted February 13, 2023 Barkley is that guy. He inexplicably keeps sneaking onto the QB roster Quote
