and keep current pace for 2 1/2 more years would be pretty damn impressive. 250 more catches isn’t a small number even in this modern era game.

When you're talking about a guy that has had over 100 catches in each of the last 3 seasons and four of the last 5, 250 more isn't far off at all, especially when one guy played 16 years and the other has played 8. Diggs only needs to average 83 catches over the next 3 years to pass Reed in 11 seasons.

Reed has more career numbers, but I don't think it's really in question that Diggs is the better receiver in a head-to-head matchup.  Reed never had a 100-ball season.  Diggs has had 3 straight and 4 of the last 5.  Reed had one 10 TD season.  Diggs has had 2 straight.  Diggs has had 2 seasons where he's passed Reed's high yardage mark for a single season.  And done it all in a very short amount of time considering.

7 times Reed was considered one of the best. Diggs still has some work to do.

maybe he can catch Moulds first before we talk Reed.

He's only played 8 seasons, so that's not a fair comparison or a plausible expectation of Diggs.  Diggs has already exceeded the single season marks Reed achieved in catches, yards and touchdowns.

And as far as Moulds goes...764 catches in 12 seasons.  Diggs 703 catches in 8 seasons.  That happens next season.

What I'm saying is the Bills failed to fully take advantage of a friendly Allen initial contract. That was the big opportunity to make that Super Bowl run and upgrade the team with super stars. Solidify the trenches, obtain impact players, etc... Obviously, the Bills have failed on many levels.

Doesn't mean they can't improve, make good draft picks, get more from players on the roster, avoid or limit major injuries especially from impact players, pick up new players via trade or free agency.

A healthy Allen alone is probably worth 7 or 8 wins. Certainly, the Bills can still make runs and win the Super Bowl. I won't give up that dream. However, the chances seem to be slightly fading year by year. Especially, the last two years.

The Cinci and Miami  games was really eye opening for me. It really displayed the Bills weaknesses. For me, it's difficult to feel over enthusiastic and optimistic after such performances.

Instead, the Bills are left with holes on both lines, weak WR core, wasted drafts picks, under performing draft picks, less impactful players, and early playoff exits.

With Allen's contract things become more difficult. Beane explicitly indicates states this. The numbers just get much tighter and the ability to sign or keep big names become significantly more difficult.

The Bengals made their Super appearance last year and KC continues to be a powerhouse despite a crappy WR core an an average defense.  Clearly, the Bills are missing something that prevents them from advancement. It's more than luck that's missing when you whiff on playoffs advancements for six straight years.

The Modern Marvin Lewis is your problem.

Why can’t an NFL player, one of the smart ones, figure out what happened in game that he played in and watched five times? Say it, Stefon. Say out loud the part we’re all thinking and talking about. It may be the only thing that saves us. And hopefully saying it won’t end your time here. Let the truth set you free.
