I'm not a fan of the dhs either.

It's my opinion.  They shouldn't be active on us soil.

It is especially important now, as we have allowed our border to be unenforced.

After Iran contra.  I wouldn't trust that they would have our best interest at heart .

Again. Just my opinion.

Using the bond market to increase prosperity sure is capitalism. If you don't have the bond market for CITIZENS to invest their money, you know what the governmnet has to do? Raise taxes! No thanks

You chose that.  Talking massive stimulus and short term incentives like tax breaks.

But no worries.  I would put money on the fact some lobby group already has a commercial real estate bailout bill already wrote.

There was a bi-patrisan border deal out there, but it was rejected by Trump and his puppet Johnson

Just like with Russia creating a migrant problem for Europe to get right wing (pro-Kremlin) politicians elected there, MAGA needs the border to be dysfunctional

It's by design

Interesting example.

Iran Contra, for all that was questionable, was definitely in our best interest, just as arming the Mujahideen was, though it ultimately led to Bin Laden and al quaeda.

I could make a good argument Liz Warren is a socialist.  Members of "The Squad" in the House.  Bernie Sanders.

And without making a judgment about whether its good or bad policy, I could name policies such as wealth confiscation and income re-distribution as socialist dogma.  Whether its of good value to society, Social Security Medicare, and Medicaid taxes force workers to pay a tax that redistributes funds to retirees and low income people.  Or for that matter, any government interference in the lives of private citizens that legalizes the transfer of benefits without cost to one group at the expense or at consequence to another group that derives no benefit.  While I don't want to do the homework necessary to identify the specific people responsible for those things, those are socialist and therefore they could be considered socialists.

The best comparison is that many want what a large chunk of Europe does.  More taxes for a lot more benefits like universal Healthcare.   It's a huge stretch to call them socialist.   You know it.  Sure, you can call it socialist but then you can call a lot of what we already do socialist so it makes little sense.  Not one person us actually advocating for socialism.  Not 1.

England is  European  and as competitive and capitalistic as here.  But they have universal healthcare.  So people label it socialist.

They’re corrupt. We would be better off letting states along the border handle the crisis using the national guard.

So my tax money didn't pay off people's student loans or give debit cards and hotels to illegal immigrants? I wish that were true

The government giving people money for doing nothing is socialism. Social security is a form of socialism, it's in the title. I am 100% against all socialism. Handing illegal immigrants debit cards and paying for their hotels is the absolute epitome of socialism. You should get out of life what you put into it.
