Chad Hall interviewing with Ravens OC Position

Who has he developed that wasn't already great? Diggs, Beasley, Brown, Sanders were already established players prior to his coaching them. Davis is a 54% career catch rate who can only run 3 routes per several CBs we've played & clearly was not the WR2. McKenzie really hasn't progressed. Shakir didn't do much this year. Isaiah Hodgins never really played. Saying all the WR are crap but the WR Coach is awesome seems like saying "he's the best leader of a failed unit". We fired our Safeties coach & his group was so decimated by injuries he had to play 5th stringers. So who has he developed? What WR2, slot WR has he produced for us? Are you satisfied with the WR group? What makes everyone think he's so good other than the players like him (Josh likes Dorsey, & I'm not convinced he's very good)?

Developing players isn't really... the job?  It's getting your guys up and ready to execute play calls, understanding leverage, route concepts, etc.  You can't teach a guy to run routes in his 20s, he knows how.  You can't teach a guy how to catch a ball.  Those are just drills.  No amount of coaching is going to fix drops - its a concentration error.

It's getting the x's and o's part of the game down pat, what are tendencies you see from defenders, what are the concepts we are going to use to attack this defense?  Its being in the room with dorsey talking about what you think of a play concept, what you see that could attack a defense, etc.  QB coaches don't just sit down with allen and tell him about footwork and do drills with him - they sit with him and talk about the offense, what they should see, what they should expect, etc.

Roman passing game, play calling might be one of the worst. But his running game is one of the best. Only want him as a running game coordinator coach or something like that. Really want him here only for that. Study Roman really well and long time. Same issues with the other teams along here.

who were his amazing passing QB's for those passing gameplans?

Roman was the Bills OC (forget who the HC was at the time) for less than two years before he was shown the door and Anthony Lynn took over play calling as the OC.  Night and day improvement.

Roman would turn an elite passer into an average one. His offenses have never been QB/WR friendly.

While this could be true we have never seen him with a tier 3 or better passing QB. Jackon at his best might hit tier 3 but you can't gameplan with him passing.

Ya that's what trying to say as well. Night and day improvement.  Only want him as run game coordinator ( no play calling and such only that part for him)

Lots of posters arguing about Hall's development of drafted guys Davis (4th round) and Shakir (5th),and I'd argue we need to include Hodgins (6th round pick) in this discussion. That dude would be a really effective, sure-handed slot receiver for Josh Allen and offer some boundary flex. He's like the opposite of Gabriel Davis in many ways.

His injuries the first two seasons were a shame, and for some reason the Bills kept trying to make him an outside guy when his calling has always been operating more from the slot (college and then for the Giants down the stretch). Interesting that Daboll and his offensive staff knew what to do with him.

Does he remind anyone else of David Nelson?

Most of the Bills o-line and TEs (8 of them) came into Tempo the night or night after Roman was fired by the Bills. I want to say they were in on a Monday. The mood was overtly celebratory. While effortlessly putting away over a dozen mixed drinks (we're talking 3+ ounces of booze per, easy), Incognito was openly ripping Roman's play calling rigidity. Apparently he didn't listen to player feedback during games, preferring to lean on his master game plan. Thought he knew better than everyone else. Stuck with ineffective concepts and calls because in his mind he knew why it was supposed to work. Et cetera.
