BigBuff423 Posted January 30, 2023 Posted January 30, 2023 Listen, all I needed to see on the Saffold front was during the Cincy game he missed his block, looked over his shoulder to see his guy on the way to Josh Allen and stood there...I'm sure this has been a long, grueling and emotionally draining season. But with the season on the line, and your QB in the bullseye for a hit, you do *something*, you try *something*, you respond *somehow*....and do what you can as a teammate to protect your QB and support your team. So, there's the exit door Mr. Saffold, wish you the best of luck to you in your next venture. Quote
Albany,n.y. Posted January 30, 2023 Posted January 30, 2023 The only reason Saffold is in the Pro Bowl is they ordered a turnstile but because of supply chain problems it couldn't be delivered to Las Vegas in time for the game. 1 Quote
Billz4ever Posted January 30, 2023 Posted January 30, 2023 If Saffold can be named to the Pro Bowl, this only demonstrates how absolutely worthless a Pro Bowl selection is now. Not only is he not what we once considered Pro Bowl caliber, he's one of the worst guards in the league based on this season's PFF grade. A good NFL starter has typically a 70. A real pro bowler around an 80. True all pro has a high 80 to low 90. D. Dawkins: 73.5 R. Saffold: 43.7 M. Morse: 61.4 R. Bates: 61.8 S. Brown: 51.4 How many guards did they go through before they found someone that actually wanted to go? 😂 2 1 Quote
transient Posted January 30, 2023 Posted January 30, 2023 Is this an admission that the Pro Bowl has become the equivalent of a "participation trophy"? Quote

They were able to convince the Bills to pay him $6M bucks to come here and be one of the worst guards in the league based on his PFF grade this season (43.7). Quote
Charles Romes Posted January 30, 2023 Posted January 30, 2023 The people in charge of the Pro Bowl never seem to help themselves. Don’t they calculate that if they invite lousy players it will be more difficult to attract any names? Thomas Dmitroff on Movin the Chains a few weeks ago confirmed that all NFL teams use PFF and saffold graded out as just about the worst in the whole league. Quote

It absolutely is a participation trophy and a joke. Saffold is quite literally one of the worst guards in the league based on his PFF grade this season (43.7). If you watched him at all this year, it's a pretty accurate assessment. Quote

Airseven Posted January 30, 2023 Posted January 30, 2023 This news pretty much sums up how silly and irrelevant the Pro Bowl has become. All Pro is an honor. Pro Bowl is a silly fan experience. Quote
NewEra Posted January 30, 2023 Posted January 30, 2023 Unbelievable. how is this even possible. saffold….. LOL Quote

Brandon Posted January 30, 2023 Posted January 30, 2023 I have no issue at all with Knox making it as an alternate and in fact I think he deserves it, though Dawkins seems like a little bit of a stretch. But Saffold!? Really? Quote
78thealltimegreat Posted January 30, 2023 Posted January 30, 2023 Roger Saffold is the NFL guard equivalent of the 49ers quarterback room…today Quote
