I never criticize someone until I've walked a mile in their shoes.  Once I have I can say whatever I want because I'm a mile away from them...and I have their shoes.

I love that one and probably use it way too much. This may seem odd but I think that phrase has as much merit as:

 

When you fail to plan you plan to fail.

Anytime the kids ask for something and when they don't get it, they whine. 

 

My typical reply: 

 

"People in hell want ice water... that doesn't mean they get it."
