Offensively, we were on fire that postseason.  Josh was playing like a man possessed and we had our ticket punched to the AFCCG until some coaches that are supposed to be NFL-level defensive minded coaches couldn't figure out how to burn :13 second off the clock without allowing the other team to go 40 yards.

... in two plays with their single biggest (by a country mile) offensive players WIDE OPEN.

Not even close. Thirteen seconds was a truly great game by all accounts and the Bills didn’t actually lose it in those I’ll fated seconds. They lost the game in overtime on a coin flip. This past Sunday’s game however was sheer embarrassment! An uninspired home team that quit on each other and their fans.

Still blows my mind.  They could've literally gone up and bearhugged the receivers at the line on the first play, taken the 5-yard penalty and left them with 1 play that would've probably had to been some gadget play to pick up 35 yards.

If I saw this topic monday or tuesday, I would have said, the answer is obvious and I wouldn't even have open this topic

I was stunned and pretty much disgusted with the 13 seconds. I thought they found a new imaginative way to fail, AGAIN.

I thought this was their best chance to get the Lombardi

But I had hope. Because without this fluke, I thought the team was overall great and the following season beginning was "great", smashing everyone, KC included

With the Cinci fail, I wasn't upset during the game, we were playing meh or risky and thought some dices rolled our way during the 8 games streak win

So I thought, we were due this loss, and better happening in divisional than SB, it was a complete one sided game and we had no chance

But the days are rolling, and the more and more I feel ... ANGRY. And it gets worse and worse.

It shouldn't and I don't know why exactly

Perhaps I realized this team has too much holes and/or bad schemes when it counts

Perhaps I realized this team is the verge to be the next '90 Dolphins or '05-10 Chargers, and all of this will be put in a bin

I realized I never posted that much number of messages since I joined, 2001 (or 2003 ?), something like 10-15 in a 4 days span, which is massive for me

What's your take on this and has @HOUSE a psychology degree to help me ?

I would think it would be 13 seconds since you felt you had the game won. That’s like for a Pats fan the loss in the SB to go 18-1 hurts the most followed by losing to the Eagles because BB refused to play Butler because he had a damn argument with Patricia.  Trust me the Bills will have those type losses in the SB if your team keeps improving. I think this year your team was done after the injury.

13 seconds. Sometimes you just end up getting your ass kicked... last year it was the Colts, this year it was the Bengals, too bad it was in the playoffs.

13 seconds was the worst coaching choke job in NFL history.  It does not even have a close contender. The stomping the Bills took against Cincy was nother horific example of bad game coaching. But lots of teams have been stomped in the playoffs due to bad coaching. So not that big of a deal.

Every team has games where they're flat &/or not playing their best.  The latter part of the season, we weren't playing that well & IMO were lucky to win all those games.  We just didn't show up against Cincy & got our butts whooped.  And, as a fan, realizing what they team had gone through, I think it's quite understandable to have a letdown.

As for the 13 seconds... we were a very good team, playing well & improved toward the end of the season & we just crapped the bed.  So annoying to collapse like that & really inexcusable.

Im back and forth on this.

13 secs:  We at least competed and were right there on the cusp but that was a collosal failure to lose in 13 seconds. That should never happen and possibly cost us a SB.

Cinci:  We didnt even compete.  Our team was so outclassed and outcoached that day that its hard to think we are even SB competitors at this point.

I'm not sure which I feel is worse.

Cinci loss is MUCH worse.

13 seconds HURT a lot more, but that's different.

We basically won the 13 second game and a flukey situation resulted in a loss.

The Cinci game was about us running into a straight up better team with much better coaching and it revealed flaws in how we continually do things, which if not fixed going forward, will result in further playoff losses.

We are do for a slight regression next year; you ca argue this year already was a regression.

And if they had beat the Chiefs last year they’d have earned the right to play…yep… the Bengals, in Orchard Park and gotten beat just like they did on Sunday.

Thats a possibility but not a given.  Our team was on fire last season.  Especially in the playoffs.  What happened this year against the Bengals is not the same as what might have happened last season.  The Bengals werent even playing as good last year as they are this year.

I mean that kinda applies more to your statement then mine.  You are saying we definitely would have lost.  I am saying we dont know.  There is no way to know.

And all I’m saying is that people continue to act like beating the Chiefs would have guaranteed us a Super Bowl appearance. One week later and the Chiefs were eliminated themselves.

Absolutely zero chance that would have happened as it did on Sunday. The Bengals were not ready for primetime last year. This year though they have matured and made a huge leap up. The SB game last year was the Bengals to win and they werent even close to the quality enough to finish!

Not sure how anyone thinks so. The Bengals went into Arrowhead and beat the Chiefs the very next week…and then they almost won the Super Bowl. Everything else is just sports bar talk.
