Bob in SC Posted May 24, 2005 Posted May 24, 2005 For those of us old enough to remember Sid Caesar's Show of Shows, this is a great loss. A real talent. I'll always remember that classic "the clock." RIP, Howie.
jarthur31 Posted May 24, 2005 Posted May 24, 2005 Most people don't know that he was also a director. He directed many TAGS episodes.

Oh, how I long for the days of the TAGS double shot in the morning hanging with my boys after a long, hard night.
Mark VI Posted May 24, 2005 Posted May 24, 2005 For those of us old enough to remember Sid Caesar's Show of Shows, this is a great loss. A real talent. I'll always remember that classic "the clock." RIP, Howie. 343038[/snapback] Reruns of Sid Caesars' Show of Shows were watched frequently by my folks in the 60's and 70's. I always remember the one sketch where they host a dinner party in their studio apt. in New York. The kitchen scene with Morris drying dishes up on the counter while standing is an absolute classic. Everyone acts as if the crowding of each other is no big deal. That's back in the day when writers actually wrote funny material and performed to a live audience. Not like the hacks of today. Time marches on.
stuckincincy Posted May 24, 2005 Posted May 24, 2005 Show of Shows, in addition to the hilarious cast, had great writers - Larry Gelbart, Mel Brooks, Carl Reiner and others - Woody Allen was on the staff 1 year, too.
