Logic Posted January 19, 2023 Posted January 19, 2023 Absolute legend. Nothing I can really say to do him justice. RIP. https://nbc-2.com/news/entertainment/2023/01/19/legendary-musician-husband-father-and-friend-david-crosby-passes-away/ (AP) — Legendary musician David Crosby has passed away. A press release for the singer/songwriter stated: “It is with great sadness after a long illness, that our beloved David (Croz) Crosby has passed away. He was lovingly surrounded by his wife and soulmate Jan and son Django. Although he is no longer here with us, his humanity and kind soul will continue to guide and inspire us. His legacy will continue to live on through his legendary music. Peace, love, and harmony to all who knew David and those he touched. We will miss him dearly. At this time, we respectfully and kindly ask for privacy as we grieve and try to deal with our profound loss. Thank you for the love and prayers.” 9 Quote
WhoTom Posted January 19, 2023 Posted January 19, 2023 I saw CSN a few times in the 80s and 90s. Great shows! RIP 4 Quote

Logic Posted January 19, 2023 Author Posted January 19, 2023 I used to work at a big hotel near a convention center and arena, so we'd get a fair amount of famous guests staying with us. The one and only time I really got star-struck is when David Crosby rounded the corner from the elevator. I just froze in place and stared. I didn't mean to, but that's what happened. Absolute titan of music. You can't tell the story of folk and rock music in America without including a good bit about David Crosby. Legendary. 3 1 Quote
frostbitmic Posted January 19, 2023 Posted January 19, 2023 Deja Vu is still one of my top 10 favorite albums RIP David 4 Quote
Rico Posted January 19, 2023 Posted January 19, 2023 I’m far, far more Y than CSN, but may he RIP, what a character, he always spoke his mind & gave zero f###s. 2 2 Quote

Augie Posted January 19, 2023 Posted January 19, 2023 RIP. I saw them once with friends as a teen at the Aud. Great show, and worth every penny. These guys I was with had a habit of sneaking into concerts, and this is one where I joined them. Very memorable. Quote

Never bought any of his solo stuff, he was a good singer though... some of that Byrds material is excellent. Ironic that he passed here on Janis' birthday... Quote

ChevyVanMiller Posted January 19, 2023 Posted January 19, 2023 Man, that’s sad news indeed. I saw them twice and they were so good live. Here’s a great version of “Almost Cut My Hair” with John Mayer trading guitar licks with Stephen Stills as David sings with great gusto. RIP, David 1 Quote
Wacka Posted January 19, 2023 Posted January 19, 2023 (edited) At least he lasted longer than his liver. Remember 97 rock giving out tickets (to I think a CSN concert) if you could get closest to the # of times Crosby was arrested. I think the winning # was 79. Edited January 20, 2023 by Wacka 1 1 Quote
muppy Posted January 19, 2023 Posted January 19, 2023 (edited) I saw him live at Rich Stadium way back in the day with CSN&Y. De ja vu was my very first album I ever owned. Legendary musician. This news makes me sad. RIP Edited January 20, 2023 by muppy 1 1 Quote
Artful Dodger Posted January 20, 2023 Posted January 20, 2023 I guess this means that CS&N really isn't getting back together. Quote
BADOLBILZ Posted January 20, 2023 Posted January 20, 2023 First Gallagher........then Ron Jeremy loses his marbles.......now this. Been a bad runna' luck for the ol' 70's hedgehogs. Quote
