aristocrat Posted January 17, 2023 Posted January 17, 2023 https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-11639109/Warped-obituary-Utah-man-murdered-wife-five-kids-says-great-dad.html The original obituary is down a bit on that page. Describes the guy as an absolute gem of a human being serving others, hard working, loving father but leaves out the tiny detail that he killed all his kids wife and self. If you go to legacy.com people are leaving comments about how good of an insurance salesman he was...essentially murdering the competition's rates. Whoever wrote the obit should be in an insane asylum Quote
Ridgewaycynic2013 Posted January 17, 2023 Posted January 17, 2023 For a time, I worked with a particularly pious bunch who had the philosophy to not speak ill of the departed. "Screw that!", my father in law opined. "If he was a €#€*@$€*%£ when alive, he's a €#€*@$€*%£ when he's dead!" I tend to agree. 2 Quote
Warcodered Posted January 17, 2023 Posted January 17, 2023 Not really much of a point in writing an obituary in that situation, pretty sure the news will get out that he's dead. Quote

Yeah, I don't have a problem with speaking ill of anyone--alive or dead. LOL Quote
Logic Posted January 17, 2023 Posted January 17, 2023 All I can think of when I hear the words "slightly awkward obituary" is the time on Curb Your Enthusiasm when they ask Larry to write an obituary about a "Beloved Aunt", and he, um...makes a typo 😳 2 Quote
