Personally, I think it has a lot to do with no Micha Hyde The loss of Micah and Von has affected this defense more than we'll ever know. Also when you run a soft nickel zone, teams can easily find seams. 2 Quote
cgg716 Posted January 16, 2023 Posted January 16, 2023 It happens every game, even yesterday, which was one of the D’S better outings. It’s a fraiser thing, has been for years. It’s why I’m highly critical of him 1 Quote

stevestojan Posted January 16, 2023 Posted January 16, 2023 Nope, you’re just like me and finally used to a team that is competent. So, stopping a team on third down just seems like the thing they should do every time. And therefore when they don’t stop them (which happens to every team and every defense) it really stands out in our minds. 1 1 Quote
GunnerBill Posted January 16, 2023 Posted January 16, 2023 6th best in the NFL and 4/16 yesterday. The Bills are good on 3rd down. Quote
Miyagi-Do Karate Posted January 16, 2023 Posted January 16, 2023 What everyone is feeling is that this team gives up probably a higher percentage of third and fourth and long conversions than is normal. I kind of wonder if it is almost harder for them to be in that third and long situation— it is similar to playing prevent. You are almost playing too much on your heels. 1 1 Quote

In every big loss it creeps up, I don’t care how often they stop Mac Jones. Minnesota it was laughably bad, Miami scored on 3rd and 22. It gets glossed over in wins, but happened multiple times yesterday too, and asi said, that was one of their better games Quote

GolfandBills Posted January 16, 2023 Posted January 16, 2023 (edited) They’ve given up quite a bit of 3rd and longs but overall they rank fairly high in 3rd down defense Edited January 16, 2023 by GolfandBills Quote

The long ones we like to give them. So... Bills opponents... should actually try losing yardage on 1st and 2nd down? 😊 Quote
zow2 Posted January 16, 2023 Posted January 16, 2023 When you watch the other games, you realize a lot of teams give up 3rd and longs,,it's not unique to the Bills. 1 Quote

Its always a big 3rd down that gets converted and just kills me. lol Unless it's 3rd and long. Like to see a stat on hiw many 3rd and more than 12 yards we give up. 1 Quote

Chalk it up to other teams have NFL players and they make plays vs the Bills sometimes too, just not a lot of ‘em. Quote

But I look forward to the D giving up 40 next week, and you blaming Josh for it Quote
pigpen65 Posted January 16, 2023 Posted January 16, 2023 The 4th and 8 they converted on the missed Milano tackle then the missed Edmunds tackle was weak 1 Quote

Incredible that 2 picks and 3 fumbles are handwaved and 4/16 is handwaved. It's fun living in an alternative reality, huh Quote
