I hate that I'm not 100% confident we can take advantage of it. But this will be the worst OL we've played all year because of the injuries. They'll be in front of our loud fans trying to gel for the first time playing as a unit, and I expect us to throw the kitchen sink at them in terms of pass rush packages to try and confuse them. An awful OL performance can single handedly sink a team's chances and Burrow may be athletic but he's not an escape artist. 3

I think Burrow will try counter this by getting rid of the ball quickly. I hope they play press man with over the top help on Chase and Higgans. Make Boyd, Hurst & Mixon beat you. 1 2

For sure Cinci will employ quick passing and determined running; I'm expecting a LOT of bending by Buffalo's defense, even in a winning effort. Frustrating yardage and 1st down conversions. The fans know the drill this season. As long as the offense shows up, we'll be fine. 3 1

Also, wonder if 5 DE’s might mean more Rousseau and/or Basham inside pass rushing, given the OL issues of Cincy and the fact they don’t run the ball well. Wait and see who is actually on the gameday active roster tomorrow. Sometimes at the end of the season/playoffs they elevate a guy who has been a “good soldier” all season. It’s like a $28k bonus. I thought Rousseau, Epenesa, Basham and Lawson have been doing their jobs. 2

Coming into this weekend they were pretty easily the worst rushing team left. I agree, if Josh plays well we will win this game. I'm thinking a game like he had against Miami in the Saturday night game. 300 yards, 4 tds, some nice rushing yards and 1 turnover. It's been a month, so he's about due for a game like that. 1

Brown is long ball, bengals want to temp Josh with the poison apple. Diggs, Davis, McKenzie, and Shakir are all capable of going deep. McKenzie and Shakir can scoot. If they really want a guy to run a clearing route, they could have Hines run a wheel from the backfield or the slot, he can scoot too.

Kingsly Jonathon will be inactive IMO. Not sure why they called him up, unless the plan to completely turn the DEs loose and give them more free reign to rush at-will and disregard rush lanes/run fits. Maybe they plan to do so and want fresh legs. just trying to make sense of this. Surprised by Brown, as I feel McKenzie/Beasley/shakir is a bit redundant and Smoke offers something else that none of those guys does…. Maybe that is calculated, and Dorsey doesn’t want to tempt Allen with that speed and unnecessarily pull his eyes and attention down field when he should be working the quick game. who knows. It's interesting for sure to not see Brown get the nod. Maybe, this is their way of reigning Josh in just a bit. Don't give him one of his vertical weapons and put more of the guys in that work the underneath stuff to force him to check it down once in a while. We did see that Shakir, although not a burner, could get down the field a bit when they asked him to and with McKenzie back in the fold they feel OK about the speed they are putting on the field. As for Kingsly, we have only seen him a little bit this season. But, from what I remember, he did have a bunch of flash plays rushing the passer when he played, though. I also remember him getting out of position which led to big plays the other way, though. Guess we'll see. 1

They’ve got one great run stuffer and great wrs. We also have much better special teams. ‘More complete team’ goes to buffalo easily…’better team’ is a different kind of question though of course I don’t think there’s a more complete team in the league than the bills…maybe philly? I think the 49ers and the Eagles are the class of the league. Their defenses are really good and they both have multiple offensive weapons. I'm just not sold on QB Purdy. I don't think whoever comes out of the AFC will beat the NFC team. Sure would like to see the Bills representing the AFC regardless on what I think. 1

I like the bills matchup with the nfc teams more than the chiefs (assuming mahomes isn’t seriously injured) but I wouldn’t disagree with people calling the nfc teams more ‘complete’. I don’t really trust purdy or hurts that much if their opponent is pretty successful stopping the run though. Our run fits have been good most of the year. If we get past cincy/kc I like our chances. the chiefs also absolutely dismantled the 49ers but that was back a ways towards the beginning of the season Edited January 22, 2023 by Generic_Bills_Fan 1

Go ahead and get your 4 yards a carry. Make them crawl down the field if they want a td. Lots of chances for mistakes especially with 3 reserve OL in the game. Miami had armstead and Connor Williams in and kept in a good amount of extra blockers…cincy relies a lot more on one on one blocking. Jonah Williams used to get left on an island a lot. Not sure the Miami game compares 1

If Cincy does indeed go to the the short passing game, the d-line needs to be more concerned about clogging up passing lanes and getting their hands up to tip some passes rather than going all out rushing the passer. Chances are you're not getting there on those quick throws anyways. It would be nice to get a tipped pass int or 2 in this game. 1 1
