Be nice if Frazier dialed up some pressure for once.

Burrow kills the blitz unfortunately.

I am a fan of blitzing myself, but I don’t think Burrow is the guy to do it against .

Front 4 has to dominate a banged up Cinci o line

Has it been discussed what Baltimore must have saw/scouted on the Bengals oline with the stemming they were doing?

Campbell seemed to be doing it every play - early in the first quarter he went from a 1 tech on the RG to the left shoulder of the Center about a second before the snap - and they blitzed either Queen or Smith thru the RG

But they did it and wouldn’t blitz to.  So my guess is their scouts picked up on how Burrow makes checks at the line - it isn’t always pass pro but maybe where the run is going.  But it definitely confused the protection.

Anyone else notice that?

No way. Cover 1 beat this drum last year before the KC game. The Bills didn’t do it. Cincy did the next round, and it really stymied Mahomes.

But I have not seen the Bills ever rush 3. I don’t know why— maybe concern that their DBs can’t hold up for a long time?

Didn’t we rush 3 on that 3rd and 23 against Miami? In that week 3 game that burned us in the 4th quarter on the pass to Waddle

Think it was 3 man rush  but could be wrong

you are absolutely right. I was curious and just looked up the play. They rushed 3. It is amazing how he got open like that too (mostly due to horrible coverage by Jaquan Johnson).

Yes.

Cincy IIRC has pretty much a quick rhythm passing game, and Burrows is expert at knowing where his "answer" is and finding it.

I kind of felt ethically compelled not to censor folks since I don't like it when I am erased for various reasons, but I take your point and free speech really should only apply to ideas and not intentional black magic.

Sticking a bunch of people into an ignore file does not censor them; they are still free to post whatever they like, but I don't have to read it and be aggravated or tempted to reply to persistently antagonistic or attention seeking behaviors (thus amplifying them).

Since I'm here for my own enjoyment talking football and it makes the board more enjoyable for me, that's how i roll.

YMMV.

Yep. If you blitz him, then you better hope it’s a play action or deep drop back where someone gets home before he’s had the chance to look downfield or someone gets a hand up.

Stat that is interedting

joe Burrow is 4-8 when sacked 4 or more times in a game

pin the ears back boys - go get him front 4

Calling Epenesa and Rousseau who were MIA vs MIA.  Would be nice if they showed up this week.

I'm not a defensive coordinator but if I was I

(1) wouldn't blitz at and if I di I'd drop a lineman into coverage

(2) would do a lot of stunting - they have 4 scrubs on the line out of 5, and the one starter (the center( is average at best).  Confuse the hell out of them

(3) would EMPHASIZE getting you hands up when Burrow's throwing - a tipped ball INT could go a long way in this game

Listening to McDermott's press conference earlier today.  He seemed a little distracted.

Anyway, he praised the heck out of the Bengals:

"Skill level is off the charts, Joe and what he's accomplished to this point as a QB in this league.  He's extremely smart, accurate, the list goes on, he's an elite QB for good reason.  Then the skill that they have with the receivers, the tight ends, the backs, they're as skilled as there is in the league"

To listen to him talk, you'd think that their back is rushing for 4.6 ypc and ours for 3.9 ypc, instead of vice versa.  You'd think that their TE had 517 yds receiving and ours had 414, instead of vice versa.

I do give them the edge at WR.  Their top 3 WR account for 2837 yds, our top-3 for 2688.

I'm not quite sure what to make of it.  I know McDermott's mantra is "humble and hungry", but just as there's a line between aggressive and reckless, there's a line between humble and recognizing your opponent, and doubting yourself.

I hope he's on the "right side" that's all.

Yes, the media is really all over Allen and the turnovers and endless discussions about Damar.

And McDermott has always been so pragmatic and structured when he talks.

To me, he comes off as dry.

But as long as the team responds to it.

I don’t listen to a ton of other press conferences, but I do listen to the Lions and I enjoy Dan Campbell and his entire staff.

I have respected the Bengals, the coaching staff (even going back to Marvin Lewis), their fans, and a lot of their players for a long time. Andy Dalton and Tyler Boyd basically ended our Playoff drought against the Ravens. I also gained even more respect for the staff and some of the players after that Monday night situation. I've always liked Burrow going back to his days at LSU. The guy is a special QB. You could see it then and how it has translated now. He's one of the calmest QB's I've ever seen in the pocket, no matter what's going on around him, or the situation at hand. He reminds me a lot of Joe Montana. You all have a really good team from top to bottom. It's why you made the SB last year.

Your boy Hendrickson though? He's piece of crap, dirty player. You can post your videos and homer fan takes to go along with them, but you see Hendrickson look straight at Josh's legs before he whips his body over and into him. Regardless of anything you or any other Cincy homer will say, it is pretty obvious exactly what took place. This isn't the first time he's pulled some crap like that either. There have been other instances of his dirty tactics on display going back to his time in NO. Hitting guys low, hitting guys late, stuff like he did with Josh Allen. Heck, this past weekend he plowed into the back of an unsuspecting Ravens' OL'man who was engaged blocking someone else and ended up being hurt on the play. I think he returned to the game later, but it was still a b*tch move on Hendrickson's part. Hayden Hurst as well. Another piece of crap, dirty player. Using all his weight to purposely drive a guy's head into the ground. :censored: both of those guys and I hope they get what they deserve for purposely trying to injure other players.

Yet the league doesnt think so, some of your own posters here dont think so... I get that you think a 270 pound man coming full speed and being shoved by a 330 pound man should be able to stop immediately due to a lack of understanding the science of momentum...  believe what you want, the slow motion replay doesnt provide the true story.

Your post before this you said Burrow is just a good a passer as Allen and can “throw it a mile”.

Gotta pick one there ol’ Caesar ol’ buddy ol’ pal.

Feel free to quote me saying Burrow has as strong an arm as Allen.  I think you may have misread, even Joe says Josh has a cannon and makes throws he cannot.  I

You could always try listening to Mike McDaniel's postgame presser :death:

I swear I thought I'd wandered into a private counseling session and a football presser broke out

Only for one half. Then the other half they do nothing on offense.

@Caesar can you ask your girlfriend's over there what they think as posed of this:

Would they find more satisfaction in playing the Bills in the AFCC then the AFCD?

I think Cinci is really hyping this game up more so then the Bills. And wonder if they are going to make this their Superbowl. If they win I don't see them beating KC. They'll be too spent.

You think you are the genius of football and you truly are not.  This Bengals team has actually been to a Super Bowl.  This game is not our Super Bowl, your cockiness and pathetic language about the Bengals is what many over on our site referenced.

22 hours ago in this thread you said, and I quote (because I have permission to feel free to do so):

“I think Josh is an awesome player and would never say he is overrated even tho his only trait that he has over Burrow is rushing (he can throw it a mile).”

The logic of that quote implies Allen’s arm and passing ability are equal to or below that of Burrow.

Lol, no.  "he can throw it a mile" is referencing Allen, not Burrow.

If me answering comments directed at me hurts your feelings feel free to ignore or block me.  I have never disrespected the Bills team or any players.  There are some great posters on this site.   There are a couple ***** (boyst) and a few fragile ones, like you.    I do apologize if me talking football has hurt you in any way.

Yes, it has hurt me because I’m fragile. You’re just here talking football, after all. Relentlessly arguing on an opposing team’s message board like a very normal person. Nothing weird about your very weird behavior!
