LETS GOOOOOOO

Work went right out the window today. Been on the phone with Falcons ticket office, and every Bills STH I know or am loosely acquainted with back home.

Keep me in mind if you strike gold!

I'm only 4 hours from Atlanta, might change my thoughts on going.

I can see the downtown stadium in the distance on my one mile drive to the grocery store. I’m trying to take it one game at a time, but that just became a challenge! This would be AMAZING!

The Bills had a good showing last time they played here when the stadium was new. I’m sure the AFCCG will draw a great red, white and blue crowd!

Whats wrong with Atlanta ?

1. Miserable climate. Insufferably hot/humid in the summer, but not offset by a really pleasant winter like Florida.
2. Godawful traffic.
3. The 2nd highest property crime rate major US cities (Miami).

4. Lack of interesting natural or cultural attractions for visitors. I had a day of dead time there on a business trip a few years ago and multiple locals told me to go to the Coca-Cola museum. Which I did.
EDIT: I see the MLK historic site was greatly expanded in 2018, after I was there the last time. So that would be my only reason for visiting other than a football game.

offset I guess by a really, really nice football stadium.

Yeah, but other than that……….  😋

It’s not my first choice of where to live, but there are also much worse places to be.

Sounds about right. I don't miss it.

I’m sure there are, but right now nothing’s coming to mind.

I meet a guy in a tennis league and we’re doing the whole where are you from, what do you do for work thing. He said “I’m from the armpit of the United States”. I said “Oh, Gary, Indiana?” He said “so you’ve been there!” I told him I drove through one time, and that’s all I needed to see. 😂

Winter sucks here with too many gray days in the 40’s and rain, but at least it’s relatively brief. I don’t mind the heat of summer, in fact I like that part. It’s just too big for my taste, but we (the wife and son) are here to make money. Atlanta has career type jobs that were not available in our previous home towns (Hilton Head Island and Sarasota, FL). In fact, few cities rival Atlanta for work opportunities. Oh well…..a few more years for my wife.

Planning ahead is not being overconfident. We all know there are 2 more games before the AFCCG

….and right now, the only thing that counts is Miami.

But yes, if you don’t plan ahead you can be too late. Airfare, car rentals and hotels, IF you can get them,  will spike similar to the way they do for the Bills home opener.  Atlanta is so much bigger it can more easily absorb a single big game, but I bet now is as cheap as it will be.
