I wish we had Schwartz back as DC.

Schwartz 2014: 18.1 ppg  and 312.2 ypg

Frazier 2022: 17.9 ppg and 319 ypg

2022 easier to score that 2014.....

The good old days!

Frazier gets lots of grief here but keep in mind that he's running the defense the way McDermott wants it done. McDermott wouldn't bring in a guy like Schwartz who's defensive philosophy differs from his own. Frazier is like the caretaker of the McDermott Defense.

Leslie was also defending big leads where giving up runs and short completions mattered far less. That 2014 team lived and died by how Schwartz's D played. Every yard given up mattered.

Schwartz was an excellent DC here (and more generally). He is the guy Miami should try and hire IMO. Their personnel in his scheme matched with McDaniel's offense would be a problem. I'd have happily hired him over Rex in 2015 as Head Coach. However, I think part of the reason he is so revered by some fans is that was a defense led team. That Bills team couldn't get into a shootout, it was guaranteed defeat. So that D had a bigger impact on results. Now, with Josh Allen it doesn't matter how many we give up you always feel we still have a chance in a game.

And the other element is style. Schwartz's D (while also not blitzing much) came downhill pretty much every play. Frazier's D is more willing to step off and play the sticks. Fans tend to prefer the former stylistically even if the results are pretty much the same.

I apologize for thinking he was Dick Jauron with a better qb (though he still hasn’t won a SB and Jauron won 7 games with some of the least talented teams in nfl history 🤔). Jk, great man and leader. We are very lucky to have him especially during this last month or so.

I think this whole "McClappy" thing is and has always been pretty f'ing lame.

I get it, he claps... so what?  Most coaches do.

He is the man that turned this sinking ship around  since the first day of his arrival.  To call him a silly, dismissive name like this shows me a lot more about you than him.

And how about you judging me?

What does that say about you?

You don't know anything about me, what I do, what I've done, the kind of person I am, the things I do in my spare time, anything I've done for my family or community and yet you feel comfortable judging me.

A little bit of an overblown reaction, don't you think?

For the record, you decided to judge me but I declined to judge you.

Good luck and have a good life.

And "DEFUNCT" means no longer existing.

That's not the word you're looking for.

Maybe "deficient."

Otherwise, your writing is spectacular!

Actually defunct means no longer existing OR Functioning…

so mentally defunct could also mean Not functioning mentally

Without any homer bias for our team, Tre Weezie, and the foresight to drafting JA, one of McDermott's first major decisions, while leading in his first draft, was an incredibly horrendous miss of embarrassing proportions in trading away Patrick Mahome's pick, and not drafting him when we needed a QB. Could have been the story of his short career.

Instead, took a hopeless team and lead them to the first playoffs in 17 years.

As a coach there is none better!

McBeane FTW!

Well, yeah.  This is a football bulletin board.  We judge other posters here by the quality of the words they post - not by who they are in a life we know nothing about..  What other way can it be?  What’s Your Point?
