BigDingus
Yes, because DraftKings made the call to cancel the game. Makes total sense. As long as they didn't pocket all the bets, how can he seek damages from something outside their control? "DraftKings Inc. is facing a proposed class action by bettors whose fantasy football contest entries were canceled and refunded when the NFL suspended play in the Jan. 3 game between the Buffalo Bills and the Cincinnati Bengals." Yeah... there goes that argument.

Yeah... there goes that argument. You obviously didn't read what was posted. I suggest you click the second link and read. If what is said is true he must certainly may have a case. Quote The company’s actions violated its “own established rules applicable to the suspension of an NFL game,” under which participants in the Showdown and Flash Draft contests were entitled to be paid out based on the statistics generated before the game was suspended, the complaint alleges. At the time the game was suspended, Turley alleges, his fantasy football team had accrued 23.35 points and was ranked in first place in the “NFL Showdown $20K Two Point Conversion [$5K to 1st] (BUF vs CIN)” contest. Quote Lead plaintiff Simpson G. Turley alleges DraftKings “improperly paid out” on certain NFL daily fantasy sports contests, while refusing to pay out on other contests, in violation of its rules, in a complaint filed Monday in the US District Court for the District of Massachusetts. “DraftKings arbitrarily chose to apply the statistics” from the suspended Bills-Bengals game “to certain contests and offer payouts to customers leading in those contests, while refusing to apply the same statistics from the game to other contests and refusing to offer the same payouts to customers leading in those contests,” the complaint alleges.

Freddie's Dead
Just now, JoPoy88 said: essentially. DK voided all bets and returned bettors’ money. But they didn't. The complaint alleges that some bets were arbitrarily paid off, while others were cancelled. If that's true, then dude's got a beef.

Still don’t think it goes anywhere, as I would assume there are different terms and conditions for contest bets placed on the sportsbook as opposed to daily fantasy contests or “flash” bets. If what is said is true he must certainly may have a case. I did read it, that's where I got the quote from. The first link doesn't work for me, so if there was some revelation in there, I definitely missed it. "DraftKings began contacting its daily fantasy sports participants within hours of the game being suspended to say it decided to cancel and refund entries for its Showdown and Flash Draft contests, and all single-game Reignmakers contests for the Buffalo Bills-Cincinnati Bengals game, but DraftKings opted to pay out on other NFL fantasy football contests, the complaint alleges." The man suing says they broke their own rules regarding suspended games, but... A) what are their rules on a suspended game, and B) the game was only temporarily suspended, but ultimately canceled outright, with no intention of a makeup. Then it all becomes obvious why this is even a thing... He was in first place at that point, then "poof," NFL cancels game. He got his money back, as did others. Your opinion might be that he has a case because DraftKings honored payouts in other types of contests, but we have zero clue what those contests entailed, what their individual rules were, or how extensive that was. My opinion comes from seeing how many lawsuits fail or get thrown out, despite far more egregious issues than this. People sue for anything & everything, but it rarely ever works out. It's very difficult to prove damages, and likely even more so when it involves gambling. You could be right, and I could have no clue, but it's what I believe.

LabattBlue
I made some $10 and $20 bets at the start of the season on which QB has the most passing yards for the season including Allen and Burrow. It has been Mahomes in a runaway(unless he got hurt) for several weeks now. I was surprised that my bets on Allen and Burrow were voided and my money refunded. Da webster guy
The funny thing is there is a pretty likely chance Cinci Bills will play in 2 weeks, they should have just waited for the rematch and all would be well.
