Starting to understand why Hopkins isnt gone yet, appears the Cardinals GM is an idiot.

Dude should get a raise and weekly handies after tonight.

In other words, the bidding war they were trying to create with all of their "leaks" didn't materialize the way they hoped and they don't want to admit they are going to have to settle or cut him.

More specifically he said this:

AKA "we will trade him after the draft." Probably wants picks for next year which is projected to be a better class. I'd give him our 2024 3rd round comp pick no questions asked.

The problem with this is if Hopkins isn't moved during the Draft, Beane is going to take a WR and probably high. In which case, Hopkins will be out.

Beane isn't going to pass on the position hoping he can get a deal done with Hopkins after. He could be left empty handed and at best, in a poor negotiating position.

Draft a WR and also trade for Hopkins. Why not?

Why you gotta be such a buzzkill man 😋

Hey - I liked the swap 27 for 34 for Hopkins and grab Downs at 34 and Campbell with our 2nd...

That room would be crowded af with the two wide outs we picked up this FA, along with diggs, Davis, and Khalil.

You were doing so well, and then you mentioned a defensive player!

Because you're not going to take a guy in Round 1 and then trade for Hopkins, making your 1st Round pick a #3 for years to come.

Not with the holes, upgrades, and players who are FA's after this season (including the ENTIRE DT room) - and the finances it would take to get Hopkins when we already have Diggs and a 1st Rounder to go with Davis, Harty, Sherfield, and Shakir.
