Panthers request to interview Dorsey for HC

ALL requests for Interviews should NOT be allowed until after a team has been elimanted from the Playoffs.  Daboll and Frazier both interviewed last year in the middle of the playoffs.  Anyone that's ever had a job interview knows how much effort you need to focus there.   It could have taken away focus...

I didn't hear it but apparently Rich Gannon killed Kingsbury on some broadcast yesterday...  Something about him never getting another NFL head coaching gig.  Gannon hinted that Kingbury's offense was so disorganized and his work with the QB was not good.  Again I didn't hear it... but NO Thanks for me on Kingsbury.  That turned me off.

Absolutely. Shouldn’t even be a question. Request denied. Wait another couple of weeks.

Now Dorsey if made the offer would very likely leave, maybe that could be a good thing?  We have that Brady guy in line to replace him I guess, is he actually any good?  What’s his upside as a potential OC? 

If Frazier gets a HC gig it’s probably going to be as a stabilizing presence for a dysfunctional franchise. He may turn those down though. I really think his best shot was Chicago last year, and that didn’t happen for him.

I'd let Dorsey go in a heartbeat, and lose no sleep over it.

 

He is easily replaced.

 

Would also not mind to see Frazier go.

 

Neither of them are critical assets to be retained.

While I agree Frazier has earned consideration for another HC job, I think people look at his unimpressive stint as a HC previously, and his more restrained personality than any of the younger coaches have.  He always appears dour, and quiet, on the sidelines.  I never see him riled up by a bad play or excited about a good play -- and that's exactly what you want in a DC.  But as a HC, he might not have the inspiring personality to charge up a team.

 

Early this season, I saw a clip with Daboll and his team laughing and cheering while Daboll sang along with some rap song they all knew.  And Daboll knew it too.  He related great to the 20-somethings on his team.  Would Frazier?  

 

I think Frazier's currently in the job and the situation he was born to be in.  I hope he stays for another decade.

 

I'm pretty sure he did have an offer from an undesirable team. Of course other teams aren't going to announce they went with their 2nd choice though so we will never know.

 

I'm not sure the Panthers or Texans or Cardinals are super desirable teams. With no QBs and a decent QB who wants input on the hiring of the next HC.

 

On top of that Dorsey may not even believe he is ready for this type of role.

GMFB this morning was joking about how you won't see or hear from Kingsbury for a long time. He's going on a vacation for a loonnnnnng time. 

 

He may coach again, but to me it sounds like he is quite comfortable laying low for a while

It’s McD’s system, if Frazier leaves someone else will adequately fill in. Actually, some here want McD to take control of the reins now, especially for the playoffs. The talent on the field matters more and I’d happily take the TWO 3rd round draft choices in a heartbeat if Frazier were to leave. It’s my hope.
 

You say there’s not a single 3rd round draft pick that comes close in value to Leslie Frazier. Not a single one? What about a young Russell Wilson on a cost controlled contract? No? Well how about Tyrann Matheiu? Ty Hilton, Navarro Bowman, Justin Houston, Alvin Kamara, Frank Gore, Marshall Yanda, Jason Witten, Steve Smith Sr., none of those 3rd round draft choices are close in value to coach Leslie Frazier? Sure, the pick could be another Zack Moss, but there are most certainly gems in the 3rd round whose value exceeds a coordinator.

I don't think it will happen this year, but I predicted it will happen after next season, and I'm sticking by that.

Clearly should’ve used the word “prefer” since some of you are so hung up on “choose.” Obviously I’m not choosing anything, but if you can choose to reincarnate Hill to play center, make it happen!
