The bengals game will be a National 4:25 game. In 2020 when the afc west was in rotation. This year they are in rotation again so we play them in KC. The reason we played them in KC the last two years was based on where we finished in our division. Yeah, for regular season you can go to an opponent three years in a row the way the scheduling works which is what is happening here. THat is exacerbated by two playoff games in KC the last two years which were a result of KC having a better record. Quote

Greg S Posted January 9, 2023 Posted January 9, 2023 I know things change year to year. What looks like a tough game now might be an easy one next season. Right now, that road schedule is brutal. 3 Quote

Those three games are vs other division winners. The formula is known ahead of time. Nothing to sniff. and the next two seasons after that, as long as we place the same as the Chiefs in our respective conferences! Edited January 9, 2023 by RiotAct 1 Quote

Division winners face division winners, the other teams play against the teams that finished in the same spot in their divisions. It’s been that way for years Yeah yeah someone already mentioned that. Was looking at it too early and on the fly -literally airport- and also Jags and Bucs being division winners just didn’t register at that hour. If this is such predetermined news why does anyone post it haha Quote

Talley56 Posted January 9, 2023 Posted January 9, 2023 If we win the Super Bowl, and tradition holds to where we host the Thursday night opener, I'm thinking we will most likely get Dallas or Miami. Maybe Tampa if you know who is still there. Quote

At least #5 Dallas has to come to us & the #4 Jags. Not going to be easy. Just wish they'd even it up so we aren't always away for the tough games (this is 3 years in a row) Should probably forfeit i guess. NFL is out to get us 1 1 Quote
Ethan in Cleveland Posted January 9, 2023 Posted January 9, 2023 All in all not too bad. 9 home games. Only one trip out west. Wouldn't be surprised at all to see Bills Chargers in LA game 1 just like last year. KC game will almost assuredly be in prime time and is not that long of a trip. Lots of team with questionable QB situations. Sure we get Mahomes, Burrow, and Herbert but after that I don't see any that area a worry. Philadelphia is more of a complete team that is better with Hurts but he is not the entire reason they have been good. Dak is in the next tier but we get him at home. Wonder which game will be flexed to Detroit next year? 1 Quote
bigK14094 Posted January 9, 2023 Posted January 9, 2023 The NFL formula for scheduling is to try to level the records. Better teams get tougher schedules, more teams in the playoff hunt at the end of season then, and more tickets can be sold. 1 Quote

Hopefully the schedule makers do us a favor and front load our schedule with home games. regarding the Miami road game, you just know the schedulers are combing through some advanced meterological models already to try and figure out which Sunday in September will be the hottest in SoFla. 1 Quote
schoolhouserock Posted January 9, 2023 Posted January 9, 2023 Going to have to get the #1 seed next season if we finally want to see Mahomes vs Allen in Buffalo. I know it is predetermined, but this is getting ridiculous. Quote

If the league alternates the AFC team going between Detroit and Dallas on Thanksgiving, then the Cowboys will get the AFC opponent since the Bills played at Detroit. Only 2 AFC teams scheduled to play at Dallas next year. The Jets and the Pats. Quote

WhitewalkerInPhilly Posted January 9, 2023 Posted January 9, 2023 I still don't get how we keep playing really good AFC teams on the road. I'm trying to recall, we have played the Chiefs 5 times in the last three years and only one home game? 1 Quote
ngbills Posted January 9, 2023 Posted January 9, 2023 (edited) Meanwhile Chiefs get Bills, Bengals and Eagles all at home: Home: Broncos, Raiders, Chargers, Bills, Dolphins, Bears, Lions, Bengals, Eagles Away: Broncos, Raiders, Chargers, Packers, Patriots, Jets, Vikings, Jaguars Bills play 10 games vs playoff teams. Chiefs only 8. Edited January 9, 2023 by ngbills Quote
