The answer to your question is NO.  The problem with his game is his availability.  The view of his time in Miami was that he sat out games with minor injuries that most other players would play through.  Talented but not committed.

Think this would change knowing Josh Allen was his QB?

As exciting as the deep ball is, im much more excited at the oppprtunity this is going to open for Cole/Shakir/Cook/Motor/Knox.

Josh looks best dink n dunk ing. Love watching defense get frustrsted: close to LOS; ANDDDDD ITSSSS GONEEEEEE. sit back against deep ball, and watch josh hit five 12yard eaay completions in a row 🤷‍♂️

Josh looks best hitting the 15-25 yard intermediate throws. He can be deadly with them.

That throw to Diggs from the opposite hash almost 60 yards in the air was just insane.

The Pats message board basically were even saying that throw was amazing and there was no way to defend that.

I loved how Diggs saw the ball in the air and turned on the extra gear

Shakir in particular seems to have some YAC potential that our offense could really use.  He had a nice slippery move to gain extra yardage yesterday on a play that I think got called back.

Nope that one counted...one catch 28 yards for him and Allen gave him the thumbs up afterwards for the way he ran that route. He definitely has that Robert Woods feel to him where he is more like an RB in the open field. Was really good in the Steeler game on that one catch and run down the sidelines as well.

That would have been a nice easy matchup...if the Fins lost we would have played the Steelers next week.

Bills should go big for a good #2 WR. If we had another Diggs type they wouldn't be able to double them both. And then have a burner going deep that runs off the safety help. We would be unstoppable

This is why I was all about a WR early in the draft.  I’m not going through my full explanation of the garbage job the front office did giving Josh what he needs, but I’ll say this, they used hope as a strategy and as usual, it didn’t pan out.  Hoping Davis would miraculously become more than he was/is was the only way this team could have had a chance to say they have the weapons to compete with anybody and he flopped.  He’s gotten way more opportunities and done virtually nothing more with them than what he put up in the past.  I’m happy they at least “admitted” there was an issue and went out to bring Smoke and Bease back in, wish they had tried TY Hilton personally.

If they don’t focus on surrounding Allen with better talent, we are going to be watching the careers of Marino,  Luck, Stafford, Rodgers, Farve, etc play out.  Top 5 QB, team that won’t get them weapons, always having to be the only driving force to a title and maybe they get there once or twice, but ultimately never meet their potential because the team relied on them to entirely carry the weight of the offense.

It’s hysterical to listen to The Who’s the best QB arguments and the Jackson lovers claiming everybody has exploded when they got weapons, which has a point.  Then people pointing to Allen not being as good this year with “all the weapons” he has.  1 WR is not enough.  The fact we are pulling guys off the street and they are making more plays shows we have a major problem.   Philly stacked their team, Hurts explodes, Miami making Tua look good (when healthy), Stafford looked the best he ever has with Kupp, woods, etc., Josh regresses as you got rid of his slot guy, his speed guy and replaced them with an injury waiting to happen, a 5th round rookie, and pushed two guys from complimentary roles to “starters”, what a shock.  Maholmes has had to spread the ball out more, but I would argue still has more weapons past his #1 and absolutely has more running game help.  He’s the only guy in the conversation that’s doing more with at least similar talent.  Every team we face in the playoffs will have a better set of skill players and most will have a superior OL, it’s insane to leave that much on one guy.

He does not get any separation.  Hes worst in the league at it.  He has career days against us but hes mostly ineffective.

Yup, this will probably be McKenzie's last season and next year will be Gabe's goodbye. Josh deserves better wrs with more reliable hands. Diggs and Knox can't do it all.

The beautiful thing is FAs will be lining up to play with us. We will be a force for the foreseeable future. We might also get a big time guy in a receiver heavy draft.

He's not like Robert Woods........you just feel that because he wears his number.     Woods was a tremendous, smooth intermediate route runner.   That was his game and that synced up perfectly with intermediate throw specialist Jared Goff in McVay's offense in LA.

Shakir is a short route and contested catch guy.   He isn't very fast but he gets to his top speed very quickly after the catch,  which makes a huge difference in getting YAC.

That was a great play he made yesterday.........the Bills need more of that.

But he needs to learn the art of "late hands" further downfield if he wants to be very productive being a guy who isn't going to get a lot of separation.    His "fair catch" attempt in the end zone got a would-be TD deflected by a DB with his back turned who otherwise had no idea where the ball was.

I drafted Parker in fantasy like 3 years in a row because he always dominated the Bills and I thought he was nasty.

Glad you mentioned that, I thought the same thing.

He is out a lot and even when he is in disappears for entire quarters, games and sometimes multiple games.

I meant after he catches the ball his YAC ability is like Robert Woods...not that he runs routes like Woods.

Huh? Shakir runs a 4.43 40...by any definition that is fast.

Yeah I don't see the Woods comps other than the uniform number..........which was a common thing to hear this summer..........that he reminded them of Woods, not realizing they were just remembering Woods wearing that number.

As for what "very fast" is for a WR in the NFL..........he's not that.    He projected as a slot only guy because of very short-arms and modest speed........but showed excellent run after catch and contested catch work at Boise.    Straight speed-wise I'd put him in the Beasley category because we all know the NFL has since sped up the track at Indy......which is why a 4.43 at the combine is basically only good enough to get you in the top 15 WR participants now.    But he's not the same type of super-quick, springy athlete that Cole Beasley was coming into the NFL....... instead he projects to be more physical and more like a RB after the catch.

Should have been 3 deep TD’s if Davis didn’t have butter for hands.

Davis is the biggest disappointment of the season to me.

Just think what a viable #2 means to this offense and what not having one has done to it.

Allen mentioned in his presser that he's going back to chucking it downfield. You love to see it. If it's not complete, often it's a 40 yard PI call.

That's what was working for us the beginning of the year when the O looked utterly unstoppable.  If teams start cheating back, start dinkin and dunkin and running until they cheat back up and then hit 'em deep again.
