78thealltimegreat Posted January 9, 2023 Posted January 9, 2023 I think we are Saturday Night with all the national attention the Bills have now. I think Giants Vikings has the feel of a lead off playoff weekend kinda game. Sat Giants vs Vikings Bills vs Fins Sun Jags vs Chargers Packers/Seattle vs 49ers Bengals vs Ravens Mon Tom Brady Vs Dallas Quote

I think the Bills will get a night game and put them on Monday. I put the 49ers on Saturday night - with the assumption it will be against the Packers. What I wonder is how much they consider the following week matchups. Seems obvious the Monday night winner would play Sunday. I believe the Chargers vs Jags game is pretty much a guarantee for the Saturday 4:30 game. It's the one with the least appeal and over history that time slot has become the AFC South special 1 Quote
thenorthremembers Posted January 9, 2023 Posted January 9, 2023 Sunday Night 8:15. Coming off being a major national news story, second seed in the AFC. They will be in prime time without question. Quote
transplantbillsfan Posted January 9, 2023 Posted January 9, 2023 The MNF is one of the #4 vs #5 games. Isn't that automatic? Quote

Ed_Formerly_of_Roch Posted January 9, 2023 Posted January 9, 2023 I do recall reading an in depth article last season that explained how all the games were slotted for when they'd play as far as NFC vrs AFC, based much on who and when the game the following week would be, etc. Example you don't want one team playing Saturday and their likely opponent the following week plays on Monday so has two days less to prepare. It dictated last year the Monday night game had to be an NFC game based on what would occur following week. Recall reading couple comments in explanation that made me think the would alternate each year so this year the Monday night game would be with AFC teams. So based on everything I recall the OP's guess at the game times sounds pretty good. Quote
billsbackto81 Posted January 9, 2023 Posted January 9, 2023 Weather may be a factor in the scheduling I'd guess. Jags hosting a playoff game, that blows my mind. Quote

Brianmoorman4jesus Posted January 9, 2023 Posted January 9, 2023 I’m surprised they didn’t announce it at halftime. Maybe as some sort of smoothing over process they are waiting for Cin to tell them when they want to play Quote
Just Jack Posted January 9, 2023 Posted January 9, 2023 (edited) Looks like hotels are already jacking up their prices. EDIT: Saturday night stays. So maybe they already know it's either Saturday night or 1pm Sunday. Edited January 9, 2023 by Just Jack Quote
