Croom literally said nobody had guessed it.

What?  Literally 100 people in his twitter post said that immediately to the point Micah Hyde was trending on Twitter. Also saw a few guessing Crowder as well so he is definitely not being serious.

Wouldn't those be considered as setbacks to him progressing through the protocol?

The term "compounding variables" can be wildly interpreted but McDaniel saying "no set backs to Tua" is why I think it was more of the teams call regardless of the doctors recommendations.

or maybe just lingering effects of those things and not sufficiently well enough to play. I hope one of our resident Dr's will chime in with some thoughts as to what that actually means

It probably means there is real concern with him ever setting foot on an NFL field again.

yep. it is definitely possible . I know that will be a very hard decision. He has worked his entire life to reach this level. Totally sucks for him if true he won't play again

But they were not fired for anything that occurred in the game - both the NFL and the NFLPA agreed the protocols as written were followed and the INC was not at fault.

The NFLPA fired him because in their meetings he acted like most doctors can when questioned and got ticked at how they were questioning him and trying to lay blame - so he became combative with their attorney.

  Quote

The NFL Players Association reportedly fired the unaffiliated neurotrauma consultant who was involved in Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa’s evaluation last Sunday after it was found the doctor made “several mistakes,” a source told ESPN’s Marcel Louis-Jacques.

The NFLPA noted multiple reasons for the termination, including a “failure to understand his role as UNC and hostility during the investigation process,” NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero and Ian Rapoport reported.

I'd say a "Failure to understand his role as UNC" would indicate that it did have to do with what occurred in that game.  Hostility during the investigation process was also mentioned though.

Ya I wonder if the symptoms just scared the ***** out of him and he was like nope this isn’t worth it. He did report his own symptoms so maybe he isn’t going to risk it or will give it one more shot next year and just watch himself more

I'm not sure why she states "no context?  Someone asked McDermott if everything was falling into place or something to that effect.  He laughed and said they are only focused on one game and that this wasn't a soap opera.

Our beat reporters aren't very good at their jobs.  Buscaglia refused to provide any context for this statement either.  You're a reporter -- providing context is kind of your job.

I’ll be damned. Micah is either establishing a new medical precedent for ACDF recovery by months or he had the ADR surgery instead. Given how conservative doctors are, my money is on the latter.

Im wondering if he just needed a micro diskectomy / decompression. Would be rare and very lucky. No way he plays if fused or had a disk replacement.

only thing that makes sense is simple decompression / like you see all the time in lumbar spine

My bet looks really bad now. Only thing I can hope for is a back door cover. I never bet too much. I'd rather win both my bet and the Bills win. However, I'll take the Bills win and be happy.
