BillsPride12
Could be a 30 for 30 or something else. HBO has done a ton of great sports documentaries too, Showtime has had a few. I have so many that I probably won't be able to narrow down a list so I'm just curious what other people have liked
BringBackFergy
“Hoop Dreams” (1994). Gives a great peek into recruiting playground players to private schools and how they cope with the limelight. If you haven’t watched it, highly recommend. 1

Another Fan
It goes against me being a Mets fan to enjoy this one as much as I do. But it's one of the last teams imo before sports seemed to get more heavily corporate/analytic influenced/no players with any personality. Simon
I'm not much of a documentary guy but When We Were Kings was one of the most effective, transfixing pieces of film I've ever seen.

Bermuda Triangle
I loathe all things Miami, but the 2 ESPN 30 for 30s on "The U" were riveting.

ALI! BOOM BY YA! Most of my favorite sports documentaries are 30 for 30 episodes. 30 for 30 is the only thing ESPN has done right since 1990s IMO. Run Ricky, Run Once Brothers those are two of my favorite episodes. All 30 for 30 episodes are great. I live in Fall River now- so I find the Chris Herron episode interesting Edited January 7, 2023 by Pete 1

Nextmanup
Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel is a regular series on HBO, and is excellent. Each show is an hour and they usually have 3 or 4 segments on different stories. There's a documentary you can watch on Youtube about the Broad Street Bullies that I love, if we are talking about "feature film" documentaries. I always wanted to see that but they haven't shown it in years now

BuffaloBill
I loved Free solo as the danger involved in this type of climbing is mind numbing. In the same genre but with a much different outcome The Alpinist is arguably even better. There is also Chasing Niagara which has a bit of hometown flair for Bills fans. @BillsPride12 Cool thread BTW
