Saint Doug
Cardinals are stuck with Murray. That’s a contract that can’t be moved. Might as well hire a HC who will agree to work with him.

The word on the street was the Kingsbury was hoping he got canned going back 5 or 6 weeks...said the relationship between him and Murray was "cordial" and not what you'd expect between your coach and the QB he coached in college and brought to the NFL and that it had broken down beyond repair. Can't imagine he was giving full effort coaching during the week for a good part of the year...Rex style in his last year here where he'd be gone quickly at the end of the day. Indy, Carolina or Atlanta could come up with a good enough package, and Chicago desperately needs talent on both sides of the ball. I would think Washington could try to move up too. Players and coaches tend to focus on the former, because that's their job. GMs and owners should be focused on the latter. The fact is that Houston voluntarily gave away something of great value yesterday, in exchange for being able to say that they won three games instead of two. That's a pretty terrible tradeoff. The players and coaches were doing their jobs. As you said front office should be worried about draft picks. Feels like asking players to lose would be something like “hey let up and coast so that we can draft your superior replacement next spring”. Not the coaches worry, his is to prepare the team and make game decisions. Not the players worry. Sure you end up missing out on that sure thing, but how has that worked out for Cleveland, AZ, Detroit and so many other teams that have had #1 picks in multiple years? it’s only valuable if you hit the right player AND even then you’ve got to have a system for them to flourish. Yeah, but the questions will be how do Chicago's player evals look and how far down are they comfortable moving. I could see dropping to #4, but everything else would be a bit more iffy. It would have to be a heck of a deal for me to move back to 8, 9, or even lower.

Indy certainly would seem to have the inside track, but maybe they would be happy with whoever falls to 4…

Maybe, but that would be dumb. Chicago needs a ton of help on both sides of the ball and a massive haul of picks in the next two drafts is just what the doctor ordered. They had a dominant edge rusher in his prime (Mack) and did nothing. They need an overall infusion of talent

Tough to be a great passer when your wrs are either CFL level or injured for the whole season.
