I don't think this would be smart, I think McDaniel is a good coach. I think he outcoached our staff (a very good staff) in both games.

I also think this would be short sighted by the dolphins. But I also didn’t think Flores should have been fired. Miami seems to have a recent history of letting go of above average-good coaches.

I think McDaniel has done a great job with the offense especially with a limited Quarterback maximizing his abilities. I don't know if the guy will make a great HC but he is one hell of an offensive coordinator.

Agree but weren't they 8-3. To miss the playoffs at that point is a pretty big collapse.

We should hope for this. There’s only Payton out there and that will cost a boatload of picks. And it’s not like Payton won big year in year out.

Flores didnt make the playoff for 3 years, thats a fireable offense in the NFL and McDaniels is a nerd that will end the season on a 6 game losing streak

I think he is a good coach too. Not sure I agree with the second half though. The Bills totally outplayed them in Miami. In Buffalo the offense certainly got the better of our defense, but our offense had its way with them too. 

 

I'd fire Josh Boyer personally if I was Miami. Keep McDaniel and upgrade at DC. Get someone less boom or bust, someone who understands that blitzing every play is for Madden not the real NFL.

Im kind of torn on McDaniel.  X's and O's he seems like a savant.  However, his general demeanor seems like he will have trouble getting grown alpha-males who are physically at the top of our species to follow him and go to the mat for him.  He will get players to buy in when things are going well, but I can see things turning on him bad in tough times.  I also think he was boorish in dealing with the Tua injuries and players pick up on that.

 

IMO Payton is a bit overrated, although I would be frothing at the mouth for Ralph to open the checkbook for him if this were 2008.  Brady could probably make that offense work, but that machine is a Hill or Waddle injury away from being shut right down.

It’s pretty crazy that Boyer continues to do what he does.  Phillips has been very good this year.  Wilkins has been outstanding.  While he hasn’t been as advertised, they trade and paid Chubb….. WHY leave your undermanned secondary 1 on 1 the majority of the game?  Boyer needs to go and will go

The owner was banned for attempting to tank

The Dolphins have no draft choices, no cap space, no quarterback 

And they give the head coach one year before threatening his job.
