Obviously too late in the week for this now, but a good option would have been to play the bengals game again this week.  Have the Cheats play the Ravens instead at a neutral site.

Then the top seed gets settled and both the ravens and Cheats are essentially in a win-and-your-in scenario.  They played each other already this year so a lot of the scouting is done.

Do you mean Steelers? Ravens already clinched

Thankfully it sounds like they're not going to play the game. As said the game has bad juju.

Yeah the game has been called off.

What can we do as fans to ensure the league doesn’t take advantage of us and derail our season?

There won't be a scenario that avoids some team, perhaps several, having to accept a less than ideal outcome. It might very well be us.

Fwiw, I am pro coin flip.

I worry if KC loses and BUF wins, that now we have to give up a bye or homefield.  We would be one win ahead of them with one fewer game played.  How is that fair?

There is no fair outcome for everyone.  Someone or multiple someones is going to get the short end of the stick.  Just have to live with whatever happens and move on.

But if KC wins you will be ok with it?

I imagine the league will resolve this when they get around to making a decision about how playoff seeding is going to work.  If they go by winning percentage, we would finish ahead of KC in the scenario that you described, 81% to 76%.

We have to be. These are pretty extraordinary circumstances - no solution will be perfect.

We're better than KC.  We can beat them at their place, if it comes to that.

If KC loses & the Bills win then there's no need for anything since even if you count the Cincy game as a loss, the Bills & KC would have the same record and the Bills would be the #1 seed since they'd win the head to head tie breaker.  The only problem with that is the Bengals could claim that if they won the Bills game, they would be the #1 seed.

I agree with you,,, and I don’t know what they are going to do at the end of the day…   But my question was asked around some people seemingly  just wanting outcomes that are going to favour the Bills,,,and then rejecting it if it goes the other way…

As you say… they gotta make a call and someone is not gunna be happy at th end of the day…

I notice people are now getting out of shape as to where the possible “neutral”venue is if they go done that track…

Sure, but we would still be ahead of CIN in winning % now that the MNF game has been a no-contest.

Some Bengals fans will be a salty over that, just like some of our fans will be salty if KC is handed the #1 seed.  Tough.  I promise not to complain if we're somewhat disadvantaged, and my expectation for the Bengals is the same.

If KC gets the #1 seed, home field & a bye without any compromise solution I'll be complaining until the Bills win the AFC Championship.

I can’t really answer that until I see what actually happens

If it did though would it bother anyone? I know silly question.
