It's a medical term, I believe. 1 1 Quote
Steptide Posted January 5, 2023 Posted January 5, 2023 (edited) Amazing. Absolutely thrilled to hear he is awake and responsive. Have to imagine this will be a huge motivation for the team Edited January 5, 2023 by Steptide 3 Quote

GaryPinC Posted January 5, 2023 Posted January 5, 2023 F**king great news! My impression is lung damage/pulmonary edema is the driving factor now, which should be recoverable. 🙏 🙏 🙏 1 1 Quote
JoeF Posted January 5, 2023 Posted January 5, 2023 Amazing news with this update. Thank you to the entire medical team that treated and is treating Damar. They truly saved the life of a young man who will do great things. 4 Quote
Carmel Corn Posted January 5, 2023 Posted January 5, 2023 Dumb question....is the lung damage due to the actual "impact" from the collision? Quote

Ethan in Cleveland Posted January 5, 2023 Posted January 5, 2023 This is great news. Neurologically intact can mean many things, but in general it means he is awake even while on the ventilator, he follows commands such as squeezing hands, and that he is moving all four extremities. Way way too soon to talk about any cognitive long term issues but this is a major positive sign. 1 4 Quote
loveorhatembillsfan4life Posted January 5, 2023 Posted January 5, 2023 So Amazing to hear! The team should feel a little lifted coming into practice today! Quote
HappyDays Posted January 5, 2023 Posted January 5, 2023 I'm getting very emotional at work right now. The medical professionals that got Hamlin to this point will never get the amount of appreciation they deserve. 8 14 Quote
