(1) Bruce Feldman on Twitter: "“I think it is a done deal if he gets an offer.” Jim Harbaugh's led Michigan to consecutive B1G titles, but also been great as an NFL coach. If an NFL team wants him, will he leave Michigan? Reporting w/ @NicoleAuerbach @byAustinMeek on Harbaugh/NFL 2.0: https://t.co/q4VrLN7OLu" / Twitter

I thought Michigan was his dream job. I guess Denver could be in play here. He did a good job with the 49ers.

  • Simon changed the title to Harbaugh possibly returning to the NFL? (Twitter speculation)

Harbaugh would be second in line to Sean Payton for any NFL HC job available. Any.

I don't know, you can grab Harbaugh for free, supposedly Saints want a 1st rounder for Peyton, will they get that, who knows?  That somewhat levels the field though I'd think.

What teams will be looking for coaches? Broncos, Colts for sure. Anyone else?

I heard Denver is going after Payton during the offseason. Idk how much draft picks they’d have to give up to NO though

We’ll be hearing these Harbaugh rumors every year until he retires. If he comes back to the NFL you’ll hear about him returning to college.

I think it’s more than just a first round pick that NO is gonna want back in compensation for Payton.

They need an offensive coach to fix that offense and get Wilson playing like he used to. Going after Payton does make sense.

Chargers, especially if they are 1 and done in the playoffs.

Staley is 100 percent expendable for Harbaugh (or Payton).

It does for sure but the question is would Payton want to waste his time trying to coach a washed up veteran QB?

I disagree, I think Herbert and company saved Staley from getting fired. I think Staley gets 1 more year. Harbaugh I can see going to Miami just because Ross has been chasing him for what it seems to be the last decade or so

Harbaugh should stay at Michigan and try to finish what he started. Payton should leave his Saints legacy intact, and remain in retirement. I understand the itch to coach in the NFL again. I get these guys being motivated to return, but as a neutral observer, I’m not convinced they’ll be successful returning at this point in their career.

I didn’t know that about Payton. But geez, no way a team gives up a top five pick (Indy, Denver, Houston) for a HC, but I think Payton is head and shoulders above Harbaugh if we were to compare them as potential NFL head coaches.

You could add Miami to that list. Also I highly doubt Harbaugh or Payton entertains the colts job. Irsay has turned into his father and I don’t know anyone who’s a top tier coach is going to want to work with Irsay and that FO.

I don’t know, Harbaugh brought a less talented 49ers team to the Super Bowl, while Payton frittered away many seasons with Brees at QB. I’m not convinced one is significantly better than the other.

Denver's only first rounder is the one from Miami that they got in the Bradley Chubb trade.

Fair enough. I see Payton with the Godly “offensive HC” label, and coupled with an agreeable GM, an owner would feel much more comfortable with that, than “crazy, awkward, college coach” Harbaugh.
