I think this is the Josh Allen effect. He has become must see TV for football fans. He has a humble personality and his highlights like no one else in the game. He’s the ultimate underdog story. What couch potato fan doesn’t dream of being able to play like Allen? And with red white and blue as their colors, why not root for them?

Things were a lot different when the Bills had bad teams.  I lived in Long Island in the early to mid 1980s when the Bills were a laughingstock & never saw any Bills fans. I didn't see any when I went to NYC either during that time.  I imagine it was pretty much the same in the drought years.  When teams have a star at QB & they're Super Bowl contenders suddenly fans pop up all over the country.
