transient Posted December 30, 2022 Posted December 30, 2022 I mean, it was Wrecks and Rob Ryan, is the author positive he said “Geno Smith” and not “Genoa salami”? Or maybe Wrecks thought he had unfinished business in developing Geno as an NFL QB… https://www.espn.com/nfl/boxscore/_/gameId/400554298 Quote

But when they brought him in for a visit he was terrible. Unprepared, disengaged, flunked the white board session. Geno's immaturity both as a person and a football player is why he washed out with the Jets. He was the worst decision maker on a football field I think I have ever seen. He always threw a nice football. He has one of the most attractive throwing motions in the game. His late career renaissance such as it is with Seattle (has fallen off somewhat down the stretch) is in part a sign of a guy who has matured. But while EJ is certainly not the best QB from that class had the Bills drafted Geno instead he'd have failed here like he failed in New York because he wasn't ready to be a pro. 5 1 3 Quote

I totally think that EJ was ruined by the coaching staff of Saint Doug No he wasn't. Despite his college stats looking good, Manuel held Florida State back from a National Title in 2012. I truly believe that. He was slow to read his progressions in college and had too many errors at Florida State. When Buffalo took him at 16, I knew he was going to bust after watching him for 3 years there. He didn't have the traits to be a great QB. Manuel's also threw a ton of screens and dump off passes that made his completion percentage look better than it was. He was the polar opposite of Josh Allen who was undersold on his accuracy because he played in a vertical passing game in terrible weather with a terrible team. Manuel had a fantastic team who played in great weather who couldn't accurately throw the ball. 1 Quote

I was (like many) hoping EJ would be the answer to our QB problem. But he obviously wasn't. Ten years later, I'm getting a kick outta Geno having such a strong year this far into his career ..... He decked Geno for not paying his gambling debt! Can you imagine Rex then bringing him here if IK was still on the team (not sure if he would have been)? LOL. Good old Rex. 1 1 Quote

Pete apparently is a QB whisperer. It is very interesting that Wilson has absolutely crashed and burned and now Geno is playing lights out. It does make you wonder how critical is coaching / system to the success of the “greats.” Quote
