This has been the scenario for a month already.

Had some hope the Raiders could pull off an upset being it's a rivalry game. With Carr benched I can't see that happening now. What really stings is the Chargers could have beaten them. They usually play them tough but seem to lose every time.

He is obviously getting cut in the brief window after the Super Bowl, but I gotta say: he’s not great, but he’d be a big upgrade for the Jets.

$10 the colts pick him up. Grab another mediocre vet and fail again

Well, McDaniels knows Stidham very well from their days in NE. Maybe Josh thinks he can turn Stidham into something still. Gonna see what he's got these last few weeks, and it's all but guaranteed Carr is gone after the season.

There goes any chance of a chiefs loss

If you look at the Chiefs this year, their only good wins were against the Chargers (two 3 point wins), and the 49ers.  Otherwise they've had a pretty easy schedule and losing to the top 2 t eams they played.

Remember when they were going to challenge the Chiefs year for the AFCE West title?

Yeah, I don't either.

AFCW is the toughest division.

Back in May this year 😃

It’s about time. Carr has been terrible for several years now.

Not terrible. Just not any good sort of like the way Daniel Jones is not any good.

I've watched most of them. Last year Carr had a 94 rating season and the year before that he was 101.  Both years the Raider defense sucked. This season he loses Waller for most of the year. This years defense ranks 25th on both yardage & points. This isn't about Carr.  It's about McDaniels wanting his own qb. He'll fail miserably as a HC like he did in Denver. Maybe he can beg Brady to come to Vegas.  Better hope Carr doesn't come to the afce.

While I think Carr is an upgrade to Wilson for the Jets, not sure he is as driven as Josh is about loving to play the game.  I think he may just be happy to walk away relatively healthy with a fat bank account.  He hasn't taken quite as bad of a beating in his nfl career as his brother did in houston.  Guy was sacked 267 times so I'm sure that piled on at least 5 to 10 concussions.  Once a concussion history is started  another concussion can be triggered by a hit that prior would not have been concussion worthy.

He may be perfectly happy taking on backup roles for decent money and less wear and tear.

White is an UFA in 2023.  If the Jets sign a starter, he may want to move on to some team still standing after the music stops

during the QB musical chairs.

What sort of a braindead decision is this?  What is the rationale behind making such a move?   There is no way that Stidham gives them a better chance at winning than Carr.  And is this the end of Carr in Las Vegas?

I don't get this at all.

They're tanking to solidify a top 10 pick. Spun their wheels enough with Carr with no real progress and likely looking to trade him after the season. Obviously benching him prevents an injury.

The injury clause in his contract.  Seems they've already made their minds up that this is his last season in Vegas.  If he's to play the final two games and gets injured, Vegas would owe him $40 million.  Benching him is the only way to prevent that from happening.  They're not even making him active.

Benefit of playing the AFC south.  They did crush the 49ers also

Yeah I don’t really know what this proves.

It buys a week of less media pressure, you did something.

But if Carr isn’t the answer, no way Stidham is.

Wasting time.

It’s very simple- it doesn’t “prove” anything.  If Carr gets hurt, they might not be able to cut him 3 days after the super bowl as they are planning to do. This way, they don’t have to worry about “not being able to cut him”.  They’ll be able to
