I don’t have all the facts, I just have my memory and loose discussion of a criteria which isn’t researched a whole lot, so take it worth a grain of salt, if you will.

First, the Bills own legacy of this happening in their history.  I was there in 1980 when the Bills beat the defending super champion and AFC champion Pittsburgh Steelers, and then a few weeks later when they beat the defending NFC Champion L.A. Rams.

So in 1980 was the last time the Bills played both conference and super bowl champs and also won.

If the Bills beat Cincy on Monday they will do it again, but both games will have been on the road.

I am not sure whether that has ever happened before in the NFL in the regular season.

Any research buffs please feel free to correct me, as again I am not sure.

I just think that, either way, it is pretty darn impressive.

Go Bills!

Awesome.  Thank you, Sir.

Now lets have the Bills add to that!

EDIT: @pkwwjd  However, from the link even though it has happened 18 times, it doesn't show home or away.

With the big ups and downs from year to year among NFL teams, this isn't necessarily as big an accomplishment as it may seem at first blush.

We were so proud of that Week 1 pounding of the Rams despite giving the ball away 4 times and having LOTS of thing to clean up...and yet the Rams have proven THIS YEAR to be a lousy team.

The Bengals are still quite good so that situation is different.

The REAL accomplishment would be to beat the 2 AFC and NFC champion teams in the year they become champions.

Especially if done on the road!

Of course, that would be impossible to do if we ourselves are the AFC conference champion this year!  So there's that too.

True.

Again, I am trying to find out how many times it has been done where both games are road games.

I've written a question to the author from pkw's link above.

We beat the Super Bowl Champion Jets in their Super Season! (but that’s the ONLY game we won that year..🤦‍♂️)

We beat all 3 Super Bowl teams who beat us in the big game in ‘93! (only to lose the the cowboys again…🤦‍♂️)

We beat the AFC Champion Broncos in Biscuit’s 1st ever game as a Bill in ‘87! (during a year with replacement players strike…🤦‍♂️)

So yeah, I don’t put much thought into this.. 🤦‍♂️

Well, they're 100% making history with one thing -

The combined win total of 23 wins is the highest in history for a MNF game. Bills 12-3 vs Bengals 11-4 is the most ever between 2 teams for a MNF game.

Bills are 21-29 all time on MNF

Bengals are 12-26

so 33 for total. Maybe a record too??

I meant their season record. Bills have 12 wins, Bengals have 11 wins, so combined they have 23 wins. I shared the video at the point where they discuss it.

Didn't require the 17th game to do this either.
