They should do it Bills style.  If my recollection is correct, the Bills yanked Trent Edwards from a game on a Sunday, and cut him eight days later.  Cut him. Just like that.

The thing is.........they shocked and exasperated Bills fans and media by keeping him that entire offseason.    Chan and Buddy said they wanted to use their first season to evaluate the roster that was left behind rather than make changes to the terrible roster they inherited.     I think they lost their first 8-9 games as a result.  What a clownshow.    They were probably the least pro-active new regime in the history of the NFL.

Why?

Because I have faith that he could be a serviceable backup with upside.  And if he were to get cut, giving him a 2 year deal wouldn’t be the worst thing on the planet.

id prefer to have Wilson as the backup with upside compared to Keenum

Too many teams out there that will need QBs - someone will give him another shot.

Wilson is a bad fit for that market and team and needs more time to mature behind a starter...elsewhere.

There is talent there and he was solid that first game vs our Bills and he looked much better with a dynamic Breeze Hall taking some if the pressure off him prior to the injury.

The smug attitude after lack luster performances and lack of personal accountability was immature and did not play well with the leaders in their locker room.

It seems obvious that the Jets have been White's team to lose after his gutsy performance against the Bills

Please point to what Wilson has done in the NFL that earns that belief, other than being drafted high? He's been a colassal bust on the field and in the locker room

Patriots hopefully.

Watching Trevor Lawrence the last several weeks I’m more thankful than ever that old Frank Gore got that first down late in 2020 and they somehow flubbed the tanking for Trevor. That would be one scary roster with a cheap Trevor Lawrence on it for three more years.

Pats, Colts, Titans, Texans, Seattle, Saints, Panthers, Bucs, Commanders - might be a lot of QB turnover and those who don't get one in the draft will be looking.

Disagree.

Wilson has talent, he just needs the right guidance and coaching.

Being drafted by one of the worst run organizations in the NFL did not help.

Mentally he is immature and makes poor decisions on and off the field. No amount of mentoring will be able to turn that around enough to make that much of a difference IRT him being a starter in the league. NFL organizations won't put up with a player's antics and statements if they can't produce on the field at a high level.

So does McDaniel trade for him when the Raiders cut Carr?

His mental processing was too slow.  He ended up holding the ball too long. Mike White is smart and can probably keep the team competitive, but his lack of physical tools will keep the Jets looking for somebody who can be the complete package.   Tha's a good thing.

Wow, that would really suck for Wilson, if it came true.

Going from one terrible organization to one of the worst head coaches in the league.

They still might be able to get a 3rd day pick though. Only 2 years in the game.  2nd ovr pick. He has value
