He averages over 20% more per carry and per reception than Singletary with only a little time on the field before the last 6 weeks. He's been getting better and better, every few games you can see the difference. Whether he's a rookie or not he's shown he's better and more explosive than Singletary. To be fair to Singletary, Singletary's average is good at 4.6, but not 5.8 good.

It is heartening that the draft class is turning around.  Both Elam and Cook are coming along and will help this team in the Post Season.  Go Bills!

I think you are getting a little lost with your stats. I've said over and over that stats don't tell the whole story. That's exactly the case here. Look at your sample size. It's not like Cook has been beating the drum for upteen games. Sure he has been playing better and is explosive. That's a great thing for the Bills offense. However, Cook is anything but a proven reliable commodity. His nice stretch of play doesn't warrant the starting role over Singletary. It warrants more touches which he is getting. The 1-2 combo of Singletary and Cook is nice to see. Now isn't the time for promoting Cook. I might add that it feels much more comfortable with Motor starting in big game vs Cinci, KC, SD, Balt, or any other quality playoff team. It's not like Motor is playing poorly. He ripped off a 33 yard TD and ran for 106 yards. This reminds me of last year when he really started running the ball well during crunch time.

I can't believe you are "banging the drum" for Cook being the starter. Don't get lost in a tiny small sample of games and stats.

Watched the game on replay. Finally got the kids into bed with sugar plums in their heads; and I start scrolling through this thread.

What I love about this place is how when OUR GUY has a bad game, people on here go for the throat. Other fan bases, make excuses, and will go down swinging with THE WORST TAKES EVER, defending THEIR GUY.

Not here.

Merry Christmas you wonderful old building loan!!!

Guys, this is not college
They don’t awards extra things for style points. You are the winner or you are not

This Bears team even is depleted as it is has developed a reputation of hanging around in games did it last week two against a superior team?

We beat them and it wasn’t close

Hostile much?

I didn’t  see Fields run or attempt many rubs at all. Was it really as you say or did their OC try to pass the ball today?

here’s another one for you to wrap your ‘mind’ around.
Why did Miami stop running the ball last week when they were gashing us? Was that Frazier as well?

please regale us with more of your superb analysis.
smart ass.

I don’t recall more than a few Qb runs.

He had 7 runs for 11 yards.

As a Bills fan I will take the win but this Bills team has a good record but doesn’t seem as good offensively as last season. Part of it is the Josh Allen elbow injury part of it is losing OC Brian Daboll to the New York Giants. Ken Dorsey offense is just a little bit off with Josh Allen. I had another issue with Sean McDermott not using the timeouts at the end of the second quarter to force a potential punt deep in the Chicago Bears own end of the field. Also the lack of targets to Stefon Diggs is bizarre but Sean McDermott is bizarre who just keeps padding his bank account.

BSF you are bizarre because you are always knocking Sean McDermott calling him a bum why can’t you say Sean McDermott is great and wonderful? I will say that about “Mr 13 seconds “ Sean McDermott when he actually wins a Super Bowl for Buffalo. BSF you are also too hard on wonderful Terry Pegula? See Sean McDermott when Terry Pegula wins something more than his bank account like a actual championship of any kind for Buffalo. Buffalo Bills, Sabres or even Buffalo Bandits then I will give Terry Pegula praise. Until then Terry Pegula is a no good greedy bum who can’t win the big one. “Howard Hughes” like Terry Pegula to me until the bum win something anything he can’t win a Bandits lacrosse championship he is a bum owner.

Yes the Buffalo Bills won today but Sean McDermott is flawed as a head coach we will see if he gets past the Kansas City Chiefs at home in Buffalo. I am not expecting it more likely Sean McDermott will mess it up somehow in the end along with that bum Terry Pegula. The whole Bills football show is over the minute QB Josh Allen gets fed up waiting to win a Super Bowl with the cheap eccentric owner Terry Pegula and incompetent head coach Sean McDermott there both bums until they actually win a championship for Buffalo no excuses in my opinion. Go Bills! Let’s Go Buffalo

Hmm not sure I'm buying that the wind took such a short throw, but Allen always admits when he screws up so that's an interesting perspective.

It looked like a straight crosswind most of the game. The wind pushed it left outside of Cooks hands underneath which means it sailed to LB. He didn’t mean that it sailed down field.

I got dumber reading this post. Literally nothing of substance… just you saying “bum” every other sentence.

There are some plausible reasons for not using those timeouts before the half. Did you see the issues ST was having today? Hines is typically a pretty good returner and was pretty timid/almost goofed up a few times. Bears had issues too. Last thing they needed there was a muffed punt to give the Bears a chance to score before the half.

Also, how is Terry Pegula cheap but at the same time McDermott is padding his bank account? 😂

The question is, what is that?

Probably between $6M-$7M/yr I would guess. (3yr $18M)

I think between Singletary and Cook we have a very nice RBBC and I think Hines is more than capable to fill in occasionally as RB3 while also doubling as our STs guy.

I think RBBC is absolutely the way to go in todays NFL. You want a more consistent running attack? Build a behemoth of an OL.

RD1 has to be either WR or OL imo.

what a great win! First off, game ball to Leslie Frazier. How do you not let Fields get any yards on the ground? Like none? Great scheme. And great adjustments overall for the run D after that first drive.

Sloppy mistakes and execution errors on offense— all unforced. But the D bailed them out and the running game through.

my main complaint is ST. Totally underwhelming in every way for the second game in a row. We pay a lot of ST aces. They can’t be getting outplayed like this.

You realize most of Fields runs are on scrambles, right? It's not the OC's decision. The reason he didn't scramble today is that our front 4 plus Milano as the spy executed contain style rushes to perfection. And that ties back to McDermott's and Frazier's coaching of that style, proven by the fact that they wrote the book on how to stop Lamar Jackson in his 2019 MVP season. I mean it was really perfect the way they gave Fields zero rushing lanes inside or outside. The Bears OL is bad so that helps. But it starts with coaching and discipline.

They have used him on plenty of designed runs.  Guessing we didn’t see those today because he’s been hurting a bit.

This was one of those weird games where we basically dominated but it definitely didn't feel that way in the moment.  Kudos to the running game, Cook and Singletary really stepped up.  Allen was off, but in that weather I think it'd be crazier if he was on.  The decision making was weird, Dorsey was kind of frustrating, and outside of the scripted first drive the Defense was very good to elite.

Nice win all in all, just felt weird in the moment.

Takeaways:

Josh Allen loves to play hero ball against teams he thinks he is better against and he did it again today. I'm not sure if he does it to test his arm, but you can tell when there are zero fox given about playing it safe.

There is a vicious rumor that the Bills can't run the ball, but we all know that we CAN run the ball effectively, but Dorsey doesn't stick to the running game like he did today that often. We've been running the ball very well WHEN WE DO.

I started James Cook in fantasy and said that he would have more yards than his brother today for a reason... the weather was a major factor, but you can tell the staff has more and more confidence in him and this kind of a game versus a low win team was the perfect opportunity to shine.

Our defense has a "bend but don't break" mentality that drives me crazy, but more often than not they get the job done and today was no different. To see Tre out there doing his thing like it was 2021 was a treat.

Sure we have flaws, but what team doesn't, especially with the injuries that we have had? Try not to be too hard on those who get frustrated and post negative comments... it's Christmas!

Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah everyone!
