When a new movie comes out on a streaming service it’s typically about $20. Quote

Football is weekly every single Sunday for 4 months, not a person on the planet is gonna pay $50 a week for a game. That would completely stupid. $10.99 a game is reasonable for people to pay weekly if they choose Edited December 22, 2022 by Buffalo03 1 Quote

I think I'm going to go your route and get the YouTube Premium. I'm watching more and more stuff on YouTube so the "commercial free" will be a big plus. These are the benefits for Premium. Watch videos without ads Download videos and watch them offline Get background play and Picture-in-picture Get access to YouTube Music Premium (costs $9.99 a month) Watch all YouTube Originals I'll just add on the NFL Package. I share streaming services with 2 other friends so I'm going to look into the YouTube Premium Family Plan. Maybe I can have another friend pick up Sling and I will take over the Hulu/ESPN/Disney. NOTE TO NEW STREAMERS: Find 2 reliable friends/family to share stuff. It's the way to go! I haven't paid over $50.00 a month for TV and have all kinds of streaming services to watch! in years and it's wonderful. Personally, I watch YouTube videos more than regular TV. The $10 a month is well worth it for me. 1 Quote

Or simply sold a lower priced option to watch one team's games for the season. They could probably get a lot of people who won't spend $400 to spend $150 or whatever it would be. muppy Posted December 22, 2022 Posted December 22, 2022 here's a thought. If there are so many legit feeds to watch NFL for free does it not seem logical that Youtube know this too. And hence price their product to want to attract the most folks to their service with the promise of dependable service, DVR capability AND innovative package or price deals for a product that is Legal? I pay because I would have a hissy Fit if I was ever not able to watch a game. I dont mind paying for my NFL football I want it to be as foolproof as possible with zero disruption or snafus. 1 Quote

HappyDays Posted December 22, 2022 Posted December 22, 2022 I use Hulu Live in my home and there is about a 30 second delay on broadcasts compared to cable, although I typically watch Bills games elsewhere to avoid that problem. But when I have watched the Thursday night games this year on Amazon there doesn't appear to be any kind of delay. So the delay might not be inherent to streaming, it might just be a Hulu/YouTube thing. Hopefully they get it fixed for the Sunday ticket package because following along with the games on here or on Twitter would not be fun if the stream was behind everyone else. Quote

Finally i have the reason I need to drop Directv. End of an era. I managed to go for years getting the ST streaming package and never having to get DTV. In early days I was able to sign up for it by lying that I couldn't get DTV at my house and it didn't catch it. Once it did catch up to that, I convinced a friend that had DTV to let me buy/use ST on his account. Then my kids went to college and I was able to use the student package for years. I knew DTV was just looking to get the last cash grabs for ST the last couple years, they've just re-upped my student ST automatically (even though my kids are now graduated), where early on you actually had to send proof of enrollment every year. I figure I'll save $57/month by going to YTTV...that's $684/year. Even if ST winds up costing ~$400, it's still a savings. agree. Not being locked into a monthly TV deal with direct Tv will be nice. Maybe make up for the savings that way. Quote

On the other hand, I'm not happy about the Ticket landing on YouTube TV, which is also wildly overpriced. I would have greatly preferred Amazon, Apple, Disney, or any other service that doesn't bundle football with a bunch of other channels that I don't want. At least youtube tv doesn't have contracts, you can turn it on for just the season if you are like my household and we stream all of our shows. Football is the only thing I watch live honestly. 1 1 Quote

YouTube TV streaming the NFL is fine with me as long as it is dependable and the cost isn't outrageous. The direc-tv deal we had going due to customer loyalty was free the last several years But a 30 second delay seriously? blech. I dont like the sounds of That. Hopefully they can fix I’ve had YouTube tv for several years. Extremely reliable, DVR very good better quality than Amazon. Will be interesting to see how much existing users get charged 1 Quote

I have a buddy who has YouTubeTV and for what I use it for (sports/live events/news) I think they’re interchangeable. As far as I’m aware Hulu may offer more in terms of shows but I don’t watch that so can’t really comment. With respect to Hulu’s service - I’ve never had an issue streaming or with Hulu being down. 1 Quote

Not sure if it was standardized or not but the only reliable way of knowing what’s going on at the game in real time is either by being there yourself or following along with the lines at a Sportsbook. Or listening to the radio broadcast. Quote
