He had 982 and 1047 receiving yards in his first two seasons.

 

It wasn't until season three that he basically quit trying.

I still don’t know why we got rid of Stevie Johnson. If EJ couldn’t get it done with Stevie then they should’ve taken another QB instead of taking Watkins

Stevie really only worked with Fitz.  Fitz understood his quirky route style and just threw the ball where Stevie was supposed to be, because he didn't run textbook routes.  Stevie's career went into the toilet after the Bills got rid of Fitz, and Stevie couldn't fit anywhere else because he drove coaches crazy with his freewheeling route style.

He will sign for someone, I'm sure, but I would not be a huge fan of the move if the Bills were that someone.

Differences are:

1. Tanner Gentry no longer eligible for PS elevation until the playoffs but Sammy is.
2. Sammy will give training and more staff more practice.

So would I. No idea if he'd come. But he has more left in the tank for a 3 or 4 game run than John Brown IMO. Might be too much bad blood though.

Exactly right.  Stevie got to the target points in the route but how he got there was by reading defense and jerking CBs out of their shoes.  Revis lost several pairs to Stevie.   Fitzpatrick and Stevie started on practice team together so they understood how each worked.

It worked and Stevie got 3 1000 yard seasons.

If he clears waivers he is worth a look on the PS. 

Half our WR room was sitting at home 3 weeks ago, so it isn't super crazy to think about.

If they can kiss and makeup with Beasley, they can easily do it with Watkins. Also John Brown only has one more free call up. We could use one more roster worthy WR to elevate for the stretch run.
