Crowd influences other than noise disruption:

 

1) Pass interference calls for the home team.

2) Roughing the passer on home team quarterback.

3) Ball spots especially when close to the first down marker.

4) Holding can be called on every play. Home team gets fewer in the playoffs.

My theory is based on human nature. Referees unconsciously favor the home team and their superstars. It's not intentional. 

Feel free to add or subtract.  I've been obsessing about winning the rest and the AFC going thru Orchard Park.

Agree.  I'll add every player would rather play at home and every home field has nuances that the home team knows best.

Those are the playing surface, wind, sun/shade and all the other little things like sleeping in your own bed.

 

I'll take home field with bad weather every time.

Outside of false starts from crowd noise, another major advantage is changing/moving players preSnap is no longer an option.  It hurt us vs KC this year, especially in the redzones where it gets deafening.

Yep that game will go a long way in determining how far the Bills progress through the playoffs. If they lose its not the end of the world but makes their path to the superbowl a bit harder
