Snowballs - fair game if aimed at Dolphins bench?

Sure are a lot of 'snowflakes' posting in this thread.

You see what I did there? But for real, maybe the old farts can unclench their bungs about the snowballs and the young idiots can try to do better next time.  And to the guy threatening to punch people in the face:

How many NFL players have been injured by a snowball ?

If we're serious about player safety... playing in 120 heat index is significantly more dangerous than having snow balls thrown at you. Korey Stringer died of heat stroke in 2001.

The Bills had 3 (?) different players leave the game at Miami early due to heat related issues. Not to mention countless cramps.

Sure, it's not exactly a 1:1 comparison as snowballs are fan behavior whereas heat is just nature.

Looks like you kinda get it.

At least you point out, the reason the behavior is unacceptable.

No,  i will always stand my ground.  I was at a concert recently and a drunk idiot was bothering everyone.   When I tried to reason with the idiot, he swung on me and missed.  I hit him once and knocked him out cold.

When security and medical staff arrived and everyone told them what happened,  security thanked me and everyone enjoyed the rest of the show.

Agree. Makes Buffalo fans look like drunken trash.

I might chuckle if Hill or their coach got pegged, but you have to imagine Bills players targeted by tangerines in Miami. The average NFL fan would be unimpressed and Bills's fans would be outraged.

It would have happened anywhere.  There was a copious amount of snow, perfect for packing snowballs waiting inside the stadium for 70,000 people, many of which were drinking alcohol for several hours.

If I had to choose and could press a button to control everyone's mind to have no snowballs, I'd choose that.  But it was what it was and will go down in the lore of big games in that stadium.

There is quite a bit of irony that the Dolphins were the opponent.   That game in week 3 could have been a life threatening situation and it's frankly gross they put the opposition through that purposely.

Especially in the first half, the Dolphins side was getting blasted with snow.   When the players and coaches broke for the half, the contrast between the sides (tons of snow/residual snowball hits on the turf vs a totally clean bills side) was kind of funny.

I was just about to start a "snowballs" thread - but more to just express how friggin' embarrassing that was on national TV.  We're not Philly.

I know it was Saturday & fans were drinking, but that was just dopey behavior.  We were lucky to not get a penalty.

Remind me to never go to a game with you!!! BORING!!!!!

Total, bush league, and a pathetic act to throw snowballs at anytime during the game. Hopefully, anybody who was caught throwing one by stadium staff should have been tossed out immediately.

Ironically, after they stopped the game and berated fans for acting like teenagers, it looked like fans were then just throwing them at each other, in the stands. The latter was really more dangerous, as most fans are not wearing helmets in the stands, and taking one to the eye or the side of the head could be very bad.

If i would have been at the stadium I would have organized an all out snow ball attack on dolphin fans !!!

With a fan base famous of drunkenly jumping through tables and throwing dildos on the field... you draw the line at snowballs?

When did I condone dildos or table smashing?

If a drunk moron wants to jump through a table, it causes no one else harm.  I will laugh at his/her stupidity like I did several years ago in Tennessee.

The ***** throwing didn't bother me either.

I can't help that there are no shortage of morons.  It's a shame that idiots who claim to be fans, endangered and could have negatively impacted by game by childish activity.

Way back in the mid-70s I was a beer vendor at Rich Stadium.  I'm not sure they still have that job.  I carried a tray of beer around the stands.  Lousy beer, and overpriced at a dollar or so.

Anyway, near the end of one season, the Bills sucked, and OJ was still on the team and had a shot at some record.  It was a cold gray day with a lot of snow and not many people in the stands.  The beer market was pretty slow so I was just watching the game.  I was working in the northern side of the stadium, behind the Vikings bench.  Chuck Foreman had a great game and I think he might have edged OJ for the record in question.

And so the snowballs started, from the area where I was sitting.  One of them hit Foreman in the eye.  I don't think it caused permanent damage, but it was certainly a dangerous and foolish and embarrassing thing to see.  I can only imagine the fury Bills fans would feel if something like that happened to Josh Allen or Diggs or actually any member of the Bills.

Cut. It. Out.

Let's see you get hit in the eye with an ice ball and say it's just harmless.

Turns out a 10 year old kid hit Foreman in the eye with the snowball and called Foreman years later to apologize.

I thought that snowballs aimed at the Dolphins bench were fair game because the Dolphins sat our team in the  roasting sun in the game earlier in the year.  The whole thing has a nice Heat Miser Cold Miser dynamic that seems fair to me.  But I didn't see too much of the quid pro quo aspect mentioned in the media - did I miss it?  Just to be transparent I was reprimanded a few times by  authority types about my snowball throwing in 4th and 5th grade but have been clean for the last 50+ years - I always thought that was about average for growing up in Buffalo.

I loved mcds comments when in the presser he was asked if he should have gotten on the PA like Sam Wyche did with his famous “ this isn’t Cleveland “ statement when he coached the Bengals.  Mcd laughed and said with this crowd I’m not sure that may not have just encouraged them !  That was classic.  Mcd was pretty funny post game., esp about flattening Josh’s tires if that end of half pass didn’t result in a Td and josh had better hoped he heard cheers as Josh slid down at the end of the play.  Man if that play went for zip , Josh would have had his butt chewed by Mcd  and rightfully so. Haha!  It’s one of those ,,no, no, no, no,,,,,yeah , great throw !

We got fortunate there and had lots of mistakes where we could have lost ( like the fumbles and busted coverages) , so Mcd letting off a little humor about t6e snowballs was pretty funny. He also said he was worried dolphin fans would throw snowballs and we would get penalized and it was good to see the home fans enjoying themselves.  This guy is the perfect coach for Buffalo and I hope he stays a long time!

I’m quoting this because…..I can! It’s easier than typing it. 😋

I wonder is some people are thinking of this as soft, fluffy snow. Snowballs range from cold wet cotton balls to ice hard hammers. Either way, it’s just wrong.

Does anyone else remember a game, I think it was the Giants, where they got pics of people who were throwing snowballs. They tracked them down and took action. Some minor charge and “banned from the stadium.” I wouldn’t mind that.
