Snowballs - fair game if aimed at Dolphins bench?

I was just about to start a "snowballs" thread - but more to just express how friggin' embarrassing that was on national TV.  We're not Philly.

I know it was Saturday & fans were drinking, but that was just dopey behavior.  We were lucky to not get a penalty.

At first I thought it was pretty cool and funny. Then I visualized us losing the game late on a 15 yard snowball penalty. I would've liked to see Wilkins take one right inside the mask.

Agree. Makes Buffalo fans look like drunken trash.

Every snow game for every team this happens. It’s not a good look but the dolphins and nfl look just as bad complaining about it/threatening to penalize the team as the fans look for doing it (dolphins fans were definitely throwing them too)

it was stupid pretty much all around

Total, bush league, and a pathetic act to throw snowballs at anytime during the game. Hopefully, anybody who was caught throwing one by stadium staff should have been tossed out immediately.

Ironically, after they stopped the game and berated fans for acting like teenagers, it looked like fans were then just throwing them at each other, in the stands. The latter was really more dangerous, as most fans are not wearing helmets in the stands, and taking one to the eye or the side of the head could be very bad.

Ok Dad….

Because 95% of the people at the game are Bills fans. You’re right, this is just a Bills mafia thing, this would definitely happen at any stadium, but it’s still embarrassing. I heard them say on the radio this morning that there were ice balls found on the field and they were also finding beer caps in the snow balls. Don’t know if that’s true as that’s the first I heard it, but it wouldn’t surprise me

It was not a good look.  I understand there's a lot of snow in the stands and there are bound to be some snowballs thrown.  But keep them in the stands; don't direct them at the field or worse, at opposing players on the field or on their bench.  I sure would hate to see this behavior in a playoff game - it's a sure way to have viewers get a bad taste in their mouths about Bills fans.   Which is sad because Bills Mafia does so much good and that normally gets positive attention.

Put aside the heat thing in Miami (which was not something Dolphins fans "did" to us) and think about how you'd feel about fans in another city bombarding the Bills as they sat on the bench or tried to make plays on the field.

Two things can be simultaneously true:

1) Our fans should not throw snow at opposing players.

2) Miami has absolutely no standing to complain about this.  None whatsoever.

Agree have no complaints for either side. Understand Bill's fan and team for heat stroke that was hard. I'd defend the Fish if they helped out during game for Bill's (for Bill's playing in heat in Miami). But no defense from me. Only person hope lots of snow balls thrown at is Wilkins. For being a molester.

I mean, everybody is focused on Miami making their opponents play with heat stroke, but let's keep in mind that this is the same team that put a concussed player right back on the field when he could barely stand upright.  They don't give a ---- about player safety.  Screw 'em.

I gotta admit, I actually think the refs handled it really well. Too many people down on the sidelines who could get hit/hurt and they took care of it before it got out of control. I understand people saying it was unnecessary or “stupid” but that’s only because no one got hurt.

Right!  I vividly remember a Patriots game in the early 2000s Brady era(very early part of the run but I can't remember what year specifically) that had the same thing going on.  This is back when the Bills were absolutely pathetic and I remember watching the visual and seeing how cool it looked and being jealous of them at the time.

Second point and I'm sure this is going to be an unpopular opinion on here but I think social media etc. is making it sound like everybody that was throwing snow was deliberately trying to hit players with intent to injure but from my perspective being at the game it was much, much more playful and innocent.  The snow was soft not "ice balls" and people were just tossing it around whenever the Bills made a big play(think of it as throwing confetti).  Nobody was really upset or pissed about it in my section people were just kinda laughing and going along with it.  I get maybe from watching on TV it probably looks pretty bad but from being there in the moment it really wasn't a bunch of degenerates out to hurt people.  That's my two cents about the matter.

I liked it, wish it continued. Imagine Tyreek Hill trying to catch a pass and drops it because he gets hit with a snowball at the wrong moment! Miami has their homefield advantage, we have ours.

The fans were amazing all night, hats off to you folks.

No difference than an intentional PI when it's that or a TD
