Snowballs - fair game if aimed at Dolphins bench?

Love all the fans trying to claim that soft snowballs are dangerous. These guys are on the field experiencing mini car crashes 20 times a game 17+ weeks a year. A snowball is going to be the thing that ends their season? The turf they play on is more dangerous than that.

I guess I'm in the minority but I thought it was all in good fun. If the NFL disagrees I suppose they can flip ours and Miami's home games next year to coincide with the home team's respective weather conditions... But I guarantee they'll be coming to us next December, like they do every year. The NFL loves this stuff. No chance they were going to call a 15 yard penalty either. As soon as they announced that, it took all of two seconds to realize the immediately obvious logical flaw in that scenario.

The NFL used to assess delay of game penalties when the crowd was too loud for the offense.  Now, fan noise is encouraged.

Soon, fans will be able to throw snowballs, dildos, and other paraphernalia on the field and even at running players.

Well you would be correct and Steve Tasker agrees

In fact he remembers bills faithful pelting  Mike Ditka with snowballs in the face

Is it something to necessarily be proud of? no

But again am I embarrassed? no

There's only 4 instances I would condone throwing snowballs. In no particular order...We're playing Brady, Belichick, the Chiefs & the Dolphins. Watching since the 70s I consider Miami as our main rival. Finally we're back to being #1 & #2 in the division again. And just as I remember it back in the 90s they're the deuce lol. GO BILLS!!

What is your point?  The story about someone hurling 20 lb ice boulders from an overpass is hardly comparable to a couple mischievous teens tossing soft snowballs from fresh fallen snow at slow passing cars on a local village street.

Then why did the police arrest you for doing it?  The point is that action can have life threatening consequences and although you might have (and still mjight) think its a harmless gag there are many ways for that to go off the rails in unintended ways.

I was starting to get pissed because I saw a few snowballs here and there after the announcement was made.

I would have lost it if we converted a huge 3rd down or stopped a huge 3rd down only to be negated by a fan throwing a snow ball on the field.

I have been told that the NFL has no penalty on the books specifically saying they can penalize a team for its fans unruly behavior. It would need to be an actual rule for it to then be enforced correct? That very well change moving forward though we'll see.

what this article fails to mention is that there likely would be any number of Dolphin fans in this case pitching snowballs to cause a penalty that  would benefit THEIR team. That is BS and you know it would/could happen in WNY or other cold weather NFL cities by less than honorable fans

Giving new meaning to the phrase 'throwing a f*** into them'. 😁

If you were sitting in the lower bowl and didn't get hit with a snowball you were lucky..........I saw one guy in front of me get hit twice.

I don't condone it but it's no big deal..........its snow.

But thanks to all the douchebags who don't come to games telling us how badly they feel they were represented.

It's an 8pm game.........the maximum amount of drunk, late arriving to their seats crowd.

The NFL loved it........that's theatre.........the game had all of the things that bond people to the NFL including things like suspect officiating and harmlessly rowdy fan behavior.

/thread.
