The 3rd quarter was rough, and Allen masks a lot of the issues up front. They got it done with two straight scoring drives in the 4th (albeit mostly Allen) Load up the OL as WR room next offseason and we’ll see how things adjust. The issue is teams adjust to Dorsey at halftime and he doesn’t respond. The biggest issue is most of our yards come off Allen improvising because our receivers are not getting open on their routes initially. And a big part of that is play design. Allen is so talented he keeps over coming these play calling short comings, but doesn’t mean they aren’t an issue. 4 7 3 1 Quote
MAJBobby Posted December 18, 2022 Posted December 18, 2022 I don’t understand why since the KC game this offense cannot get out of its own way after halftime? 3 2 2 Quote
Bangarang Posted December 18, 2022 Posted December 18, 2022 I think his called run plays can be too predictable and it seems like wasted plays after the defense just pins their ears back because they know what’s coming. It also seems like there are too many long developing routes and we try and push it downfield too often. The play calling in the 3rd quarter tonight was certainly frustrating. 1 Quote

This team could be easily be 15-0 if you remove half the WR drops. Why is it so shocking to fans we have the real deal Holyfield at QB that the OC relies on? Lol so you agree the offense isn’t perfect and there’s room to criticize, you just disagree with the direction. Perfect Quote
buffalo2218 Posted December 18, 2022 Posted December 18, 2022 Why should it stop at Dorsey? Frazier and especially Kromer deserve some flak themselves. God I wished we had Schwartz back, this defense would be so brutally nasty with him. 1 1 3 Quote
Success Posted December 18, 2022 Posted December 18, 2022 He has some really good moments. But I also feel like when we get down in the score, Allen becomes kind of an easy button for him & the offense. I was really happy in the 1st half - JA didn't really run much, and it looked more like a balanced offense (we should have run a little more, but overall, it wasn't bad). Then once things went south in the 1st quarter - it was just about letting Josh make plays. Which, as we know, he CAN do - but it's too much for one player, week after week. 1 Quote

EmotionallyUnstable Posted December 18, 2022 Posted December 18, 2022 Honestly wish we could tell Dorsey and Allen every drive that there is only 4 minutes left and we have to score. 1 2 Quote
TampaBillsJunkie Posted December 18, 2022 Posted December 18, 2022 I'm with you on this. Dorsey got figured out by week 6-7 and has not been able to adjust and use the talents of his players. It's Josh ball or no ball. I'm happy to see Knox get more targets but Davis needs to get his mojo back. I'm hoping another week of Cole will help with some quick shots over the middle. We will need them if Morse is out. Josh hasn't had time to work, so I'm not sure if it's all on the play calling or just a lack of being able to execute with a crappy OL. One thing I do expect is for Dorsey to come up with a scheme or concepts that get the ball out quicker. The Diggs screen was a joke with Shakir whiffing on a block. Put the right people in the right place to do the right thing. Dorsey hasn't done that lately and his job should not be secure. 1 Quote
HaldimandBills Posted December 18, 2022 Posted December 18, 2022 I think the frustration really boils down to the fact the Bills legit only have one scary weapon in Diggs and a very basic oline. Dorsey's play calling can be frustrating at times but honestly isn't that all OCs? I remember losing my mind at Daboll. Ita just annoying looking around the league and seeing the Bengals, Cowboys, Eagles, Niners, Dolphins with vastly superior weapons and the Chiefs with a vastly superior oline. 11 - 3 sounds pretty good though 2 Quote

Also we never know how often Josh may switch up the called play into another play. I'm thinking it's a bit and that an equal number of the bad Allen plays get offset by his wow Josh allen is not being denied. Probably fuelled by his being upset with himself. It's big reason they don't really put him into lock down run plays as called. May be completely wrong but it's just the vibe get. Edited December 18, 2022 by AuntieEm Quote

Straight Hucklebuck Posted December 18, 2022 Posted December 18, 2022 I hope tonight marks the start of Knox becoming the #2 pass catching option for this team. 1 Quote
Artful Dodger Posted December 18, 2022 Posted December 18, 2022 The Bills seem most effective in the two minute offense when Allen is making most of the decisions. I remember something similar 35 years ago when the Bills noticed that Kelly could move the ball at will in the hurry up offense. Eventually they used the hurry up offense nearly all the time and Kelly called most of the plays. The Bills didn't go to those four Super Bowls because of their defense. Perhaps the Bills should give the Allen the reins for a series or two and see what happens when he calls his own plays. Quote
Beast Posted December 18, 2022 Posted December 18, 2022 (edited) 450 yards, 32 points and a win. I guess it’s his fault they didn’t put up 600 and 50. I guess it’s also his fault the o-line play went to ***** when Morse left the game. Edited December 18, 2022 by Beast 1 1 Quote
gobills404 Posted December 18, 2022 Posted December 18, 2022 When the offense does well it’s all thanks to Josh and when the offense has a bad drive/game it’s because of Dorsey. Same thing every week. Quote

Was he figured out or did Josh Allen and the oline get hurt and the Bills ran into superior teams? People are really downplaying Josh Allen's injury and also the fact the Bills basically didn't practice during the Vikings - Browns - Lions stretch which was followed by the Pats and Jets. Two top 5 defenses and a Miami defense with a nasty dline with two starting olinemen out. Quote
