If you ask McDaniel, sure. He caught zero flak for his decision to let Tua back in. People got fired instead of him being questioned. Even now, the first thing out of anyone’s mouth is the NFLPA this or the Union bargained neurologist that. Hell, LeBatard criticized NFL fandom rather than whisper anything about the coaches accountability. It was ultimately up to him, and he lucked out because Tua’s brain didn’t swell.

Only reason concussions are a thing is because the nfl was sued for almost 800 MIL. If they can play, play them. It’s really just a headache

if I were him this would be the end for me. He just had a daughter recently (within the last year).  He has generational wealth so now it should be about health.

I feel like this deserves its own thread, given his importance to the OLine, and offense overall.

This is concussion #6. At what point does he hang it up? Could it be… now?

I so hope he is healthy, fully cleared, and able to return soon.

I am fairly certain the expert known widely for  his work on PTE, would tell Morse to never play another down.( have seen him tell players this before) Very PERSONAL decision tho.  It is usually a factor that not only after more concussions do they occur more easily , the post concussive symptoms may linger more. He obviously needs to pass the cognitive testing and protocol.

I feel for him; so young and perhaps his  prior focus in life for so many years could be taken away out of his hands depending on advice and testing.  Great character guy, quiet leader with class ! Honestly in my T&p’s even tho I just know him from games/ podcasts. Hard to tell completely also as I don’t think anyone saw what impact caused it , but could be I just missed it taking my dog out during the game at times.

Morse is a key player and much needed.

He really is. He's very good himself. But more, he makes the players around him much better.

Any decision he makes I will have the greatest respect for.

Stay healthy, Mitch!!

Until Morse went out a bunch of us where we watched the game were all man they are handling Wilkins, Phillips and chub. Losing your center and your backup center is out would hurt any team but we still won. I'm more concerned about tackling and how are not fundamentally tackling again. Common Leslie you better get to having tackling drills

Gotta hope this is a “mild” version and Mitch makes a quick and full recovery.  Chances of advancing far in the playoffs go down considerably if he is done for the season.

On another note, I expect Boettger to be activated off IR today.  Not that he is all-world or anything, but it would allow Bates to play C if Morse is out for any significant time.

I woke up when this exact same thing on my mind we need to sign someone asap if Morse is out long term

JC Tretter - Is available he’s retired but is finally healthy and I believe a team like the Bills can pry him out of retirement.

Matt Paradis - Paradis is also now healthy coming off a torn ACL and looking to get back in the league .

Darryl Williams, Erick Flowers and Bob Massie - All 3 of these guys are tackle gaurd flex players and all 3 are upgrades over Quessanbury . These guy are also options if the Bills want to move Bates to center .

When he went out, that’s when Buffalo’s offense stalled. He’s extremely valuable to this offense.

Very much so.  The offense moved the ball and scored touchdowns in the first half and looked much better than they have in the past few weeks.  Then, suddenly, when Morse is out it went to crap.  We've seen that happen before.

Morse has been very vocal about the amount of concussions and how he approaches his health. I have no idea how severe this injury was and I hope he is resting easy. He has doctors he consults with for his health both now and long term, Morse will listen to them and do what’s best for him and his family. Morse is a very smart guy who understands life is bigger than football. His brothers story taught him that.
Having said all that, I hope Mitch is ok, as anyone can tell you who has had one, they aren’t fun.

yikes another concussion.  He really needs to consider retiring.

Also, we need to draft the top center in the next draft (even pre injury).  Play that guy at guard until Morse retires.  We need a great backup center.

Been waiting for this shoe to fall for awhile.

He needs to retire immediately before he ends up like Kolb.

Kolb was kicked in the head in a preseason scramble.  He had also had many concussions.  Ended his career and had intense, nightmarish migraines and memory loss for years.

Short term -> Bates.

Should be Beane's #1 offseason priority.

Yeah, this probably makes the decision for them (about Boettger). Bates is the Swiss Army Knife on OL, and I trust him at center. With him, it allows Mitch to take his time to come back; if he wants to and is able. Hopefully Boettger is ready to go. Although I thought Von Rotten and Quessenbury did decent after things settled last night. But man, can VR put more zip on his shotgun hikes, it looks like it is in slow motion sometimes?
