How was that ball not down after the fumble when everyone was on top of it. That someone ended up knocking it out after it was in the ground w/ everyone on top of it shouldn't have allowed that play to continue, no? I get they want the Bills Phins matchup next week, but that play seamed over & the refs let Tyreek advance the ball after the play was done. But that's how they called dit so I guess that's how it is.

it also applies on 4 th down.

There are also illegal batting of a ball rules

Thank you for pointing this out, I was unaware of the 4th down restriction.  You are also correct on batting.

I had the same thought.  Guy had enough control of it to bat it back to another player.

"Tyreek was there, so it's okay."

Wow, Tirico! Since when are you an NFL rules expert?

I mean he’s right. It isn’t intentional grounding if a receiver is in the area.

Thats the problem with the NFL in general.  They are so Star thirsty that they end up being so hyperbolic that you cant even take it seriously.

Yup. I saw a graphic comparing Brady and Purdy

You got me. On the broadcast he said something about batting it backwards so it was OK?  And no whistle.

But it seemed bizarre to me, as did the previous “DPI” (seriously, that’s what you’re calling DPI?  Even the announcers and their rules expert thought it was lame)

It’s almost as though the officials were like “hey, this game is too one sided, let’s help the Dolphins get rolling”
