If Carr doesn't throw that terrible INT in the endzone then nobody is singing the praises of Mayfield. The Rams offense was crap for most of the game. Credit to them for making the plays in crunch time. Despite it being at Sofi it looked like the Raiders were the home team. Stands looked mostly silver and black.

OK, I know 'boomer' is used in fun.   I've been getting called a boomer by guys in their 20s & 30s for years now.   I'm 52 and only too happy to talk Bills football with anybody from any generation.  What makes me crazy is the term "Boomer" somewhere along the line started getting used in the wrong way!!   It comes from "Baby Booomers" who were all born in the mid 1940s/late '50s I think.  That's what we used to call our parents.  So at some point the term started getting used to just lump all Older people into one  category I guess.  So the guys who got the 'Heaven can wait' reference are largely Gen X, I guess?      So - QUESTION for guys in their 20s:  If an older guy 'gets it wrong' and calls you a millenial or a Gen z'er or whatever, does it annoy you?

I'm technically a millennial, but I find it highly disrespectful for people to make fun of and deride the baby boomer generation, personally. I think it is one of the more cringeworthy and childish things people do on the internet these days. Is it so much to ask for people to show kindness and respect to the generations that came before us? I guess so.

Good for him. I think this says more about the Raiders. What an embarrassing loss. Carr is dollar store Kirk Cousins and McDaniels should pay Brady 75% of his salary because he sucks as a head coach. Complete fraud.

Raiders always find new ways to lose games all the time, but gotta give Baker credit...Magical night for him.

I turned it off  at halftime last night. But thought the first half was weird. He was something like 3/4 and 70 yards. No single big play boosting the stats. Just 3 20+ yard receptions. The Rams ran a total of like 15 plays in the first half.

The replay of that 98 yard drive! I am less concerned with the comeback itself. He was throwing dimes to receivers he just met 48 hours ago into really tight windows. It was an impressive showing as a passer, win or lose.

I’m not a Faker fan, but that little Q4 rally- was impressive!

Of course, when the zoned in touts, give kudos to Baker & Brady, they neglect or fail to headline, the real reason why their teams win.

In the case of both- the brain dead stupidity of the opposing team.

In Tampa’s case, the WTF moment came when the Saints WR cut the route short and deliberately went OOB one yard short of the First Down marker, up 16-3 and @ 5:31. Causing an unsuccessful 3rd. and 1 and a Saints punt. TWO minutes of clock were lost there, even if NO goes 3 and out.

Catastrophically stupid!

And then, there’s last night. Ignoring sub standard Carr’s 5 yard INT into the End Zone, focus on the rushed for no reason, clock running, 3rd. and 1. An ex Billsy type of execution!

Or the Neutral Zone Penalty on 4th. & 5.

Followed by equal Moron of the Year play… getting a PF, AFTER you have sacked the QB at the 16 (2nd & 19) and the clock is RUNNING! 🤪🙄

THAT clown should have to walk back to Vegas… or 180 into the Pacific!!

God, I detest stupid, selfish, football players! Thankfully, McD has eliminated that nonsense from the Bills.

Rams needed a QB. Who available was better than Mayfield?

The Rams and 49ers are bitter rivals. The Rams wanted McCaffrey and lost out to SF. Don’t for a moment think this move wasn’t made knowing how it would prevent the 49ers from getting a guy who could save their season.

The Rams did need a QB but they also know they aren’t winning another SB this year.

I had forgotten about that great old movie.  But Mayfield was wearing number 17, not 16.

Charles Grodin was an absolute national treasure!!!

There is no circumstance where the rams pass on mayfield.  It’s just silly to think they did it out of spite.

In the Saints game, the guy ran out of bounds because he was injured.   He immediately went to the ground.  Still, a tough guy would have held it together to get that yard, but I give him a pass on that.  But then, on third and one, they passed!   Run the ball, get the first down or not, but force the Bucs to take a timeout.  Then, on the next possession, second and seven, Dalton goes back to pass and gets sacked!   So, now they're third and 17 and they pass incomplete.   Run on second down, force a timeout.   Run on third and seven or less, force another timeout and maybe get the first down.  It was just so obvious in both situations, and yet the Saints were fiddling around trying to throw the ball.   They gave up two chances to get a first down AND they saved two timeouts for the Bucs.   Really, really dumb.

Amazing game by Mayfield on 2 days, but Man! Did the Raiders play stupid on D and give them chance after chance.

Isn’t that sort of the story of Mayfield, though?  Can play brilliantly, then somehow can’t play within a system?

It’ll be interesting to see what McVay gets out of him for the next 4 weeks

Stupid is right. LA had 2 dudes absolutely cruuunch baker on 2nd down, for what certainly looked like a game ending sack at the time.

Then some moron uninvolved in the play smacked the ball directly in front of the ref to give them a 1st

The baby boomers are those born from 1946 to 1964.

I am not a Mayfield fan but it's pretty funny should he play well for the Rams

The Patriots and Jets have no real Quarterback and both teams passed.  A simple waiver claim could have changed everything in the AFC East.

I am not saying Mayfield will be any good but he could be

I bet a lot of fans in NFL cities will be crying this morning, WHY DIDN'T WE CLAIM MAYFIELD????

The Rams would have had preference over almost any other team because of their poor record.

As a boomer myself, I think some of the boomer criticism and resentment comes from the fact that we've set things up so we have most of the wealth and the disposable income and the power, and younger generations are struggling to break into the system.  Also because we along with previous generations have wrecked the environment and created an international political system that looks threatening to younger people.

Grodin in Midnight Run with Robert DeNiro was amazing.  Also he was brilliant in Dave with Kevin Kline.  I think he was always best when he could pair up with another strong lead, so his reaction to what was happening could say so much.

He was injured. But, he wasn’t going to be hit, Shaw. To not go that one more yard was inexcusable. I agree with all the other idiotic Saint plays. Still, Daulton threw a 25 yard Allen- Diggs dart on that 3rd. & 17, that wasn’t dropped by a rookie. Believe it was Kamara.

This sounds like me after every Brady comeback.

IF the scrawny old man gets credit for beating the 4-9 Saints prevent defense (with a well timed DPI, of course!), then Baker gets credit.

BAKER MAGIC!

IF Baker puts some good film together, I wonder if the Rams might trade Stafford to try to recoup a pick?

Uh, no. Almost every single climate saving technology and advancement has come from research and development by baby boomer entrepreneurs and scientists. Every advancement in civil rights since the 1960's has come from baby boomer leaders, politicians, and activists.

And that's how wealth, leadership, and innovation work. You grow older, you get more wealthy as you get more experience, you gain more leadership opportunities, and then you retire and the next generation takes over. That's how it has always worked and how it will continue to work for the rest of time.

Millenials are now taking over in wealth and leadership as we are now reaching a point where we have lots of experience in our fields and experience managing people. It's the normal progression of life.

No baby boomer should feel the need to debase themselves like this.

Great movie, but a horrible premise! Everthing until the end is good.

Spoiler alert:

They mistakenly kill Joe Pendleton then bring him back to find him a new body. His new body is ultimately QB Tom Jarrett, but at the end, they kill off Joe again when he actually becomes Tom Jarrett. Everything about Joe is gone....music, memory....everything. Terrible premise.
